Comments:

After High School I worked in retail sales. I worked for Candy Carlson's mom for a while. I got married in 1972 and moved all the way to Salt Lake City for the first 2 years of our marriage. Then we bought the old farm house three houses south of where I grew up and we've lived there ever since. "Big Time World Traveler" We have five wonderful children and nine grandchildren. Melissa, my only daughter and Joe have three girls and one boy. Chris and Amy have two boys and a girl. Jeff and Ashly, Casey and Brittney each have a dog and Tyler has two girls. They are the light of my life. My favorite days are Grandma Sleepovers.
My children all went to Midvale Middle School and Hillcrest High. They hated it when I knew and or had a teacher that they had.
In about 1978 I meet Glenn Short, who happened to be Bob McClung's father-in-law and lived in our ward. He was an auctioneer. He asked me to work an auction for him. Then we went to Auctioneer School in 1984 and I guess the rest is history. I've been calling auctions for 35 years now and still love it.
We have basically retired from auctioning estates, school surplus and other general auctions. We closed our auction house and now only do Storage Auctions. If you have ever seen "Storage Wars", well that's what we do all the time. We open up the units that have become delinquent and offer (auction) the entire contents of the unit. No they are not all filled with gold and treasures. But some units have actually had gold ingots, coins, jewelry, cars, boats, urns with ashes and other fun treasures. Lots of people make their living buying and selling items from the storage units. We love the people and still have lots of fun working.
My Husband Ken worked in construction for several years. Then Mr. Short helped him get on at the Utah State Prison, where he worked for 20 years.

We haven't been big world travelers, but have enjoyed a few amazing trips. My dear friend Kathryn Klitgaard and her husband Rob shared a trip to China in 2001 and a trip to Greece in 2017. Janice Lund and her husband Lynn were on the Greece trip also. What a joy to share such wonderful experiences with dear friends.

School Story:

I loved working on the scenery for the plays and musicals with Mrs. Dodge. Mrs. Mark scared the daylights out of me, but I dearly loved her. I never could understand why Mr. Dean put me in Chamber Choir. I do still love to sing in the choir though.
On our senior sleepout in my back yard, we left the party and toilet papered Mrs. Mark's house. Her husband caught us and made us clean up the mess, then invited us in for sodas at zero dark thirty in the morning before graduation practice.

I want to thank the special friends who introduced me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You were such wonderful examples and dear friends to me. I was baptized Oct. 26, 1968, our senior year. It has completely changed the course of my life. I met my husband Ken (a returned missionary) on Friday August the 13th, 1971 and we were married in the Salt Lake Temple January 14, 1972. We have spent 47 years of love and service together and hope for many more. We looking forward to serving a mission together.

I also love and appreciate all the wonderful friends of other faiths and beliefs that befriended me. You are very special and influenced me for good.

I am helping on the 50 year class reunion committee and we are hoping to share and remember the wonderful high school days with each of you. We
were an amazing and close bunch of kids. Please don't let a few pounds, hair loss or shyness keep you from enjoying a wonderful night together.

I met Bonnie at Terry Updyke's come-as-you are slumber party shortly after Butler Jr. high opened. Knowing Bonnie has truly been a blessing in my life.  I'm one of the lucky ones that got to talk to and visit Bonnie more than a few times every year, even though I never lived in Utah after 1972. She was an exceptional person in every way and I will miss her forever.

Bonnie had such wit and fun loving. Always the lively one and athletic one. She loved skiing and was always so atheletic in anything she pursued. She will be always remembered for her smiles for everyone. She worked for my Mom at Lerners in the mall for a few years out of high school so we saw one another often, before I relocated to CA for employment. May your dear soul rest in God's arms Bonnie.
