Patrice Elaine Burkinshaw passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 24, 2018. 

Patrice's best friend Scott who she married 46 years ago loved her completely and shared a special kind of love with her that stood the test of time and will last forever. 

Their children Joseph, Susan and Mary who Patrice loved unconditionally along with their spouses who Patrice loved and accepted immediately and her seven grandchildren who she loved with all her heart. We will forever love you and remember you for your faith, big heart and unwavering beautiful sweet spirit. 

Patrice's family was her life. She loved us and everyone she met so effortlessly. She listened to our problems and each of our stories intently. She celebrated our triumphs and cried with us through our failures. 

Those of us that were blessed to know Patrice learned so much from her example and who she was. 

We learned to show love to everyone without judgment, to keep a humble spirit, that life is fun so enjoy it, to eat dessert first, that hugs are special and to always forgive others. 

Above all, we learned the peace that comes from an unwavering faith and trust in our savior Jesus Christ. She did not fear death instead she looked forward to seeing her savior again. I'm sure she gave him one of her signature tight hugs. The kind of hug she gave us every time she saw us. The kind of hug that says I love you now and I'll love you forever no matter what happens. We will miss you Patrice our loving wife, caring mother, attentive grandmother and loyal friend. We look forward to the day we see you again and wrap our arms around you in a loving embrace forever. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is at peace now. May her love live on in others. 

A memorial service was held for Patrice Burkinshaw on January 29, 2018.
