Jeannette left this earth Saturday, November 11th to be with Heavenly Father and her family. Those waiting for her knew of her strong will and desires. Following a valiant 3-year fight against Inflammatory Breast Cancer, the cancer consumed her little body. She was consistently supported by family and friends during the fight. She was our precious little Dutch girl, our True Love, Wife, Best Friend, Mother, Nana, Sister, and a Friend to all who knew her.

Jeannette was born in the Netherlands on the 20th of October 1950, to William and Cobi Wyker. Jeannette and her family moved to the United States of America in 1961. After living in America for some time, Jeannette and her sister, Willy became US citizens. Jeannette was so proud to be an American, but always remembered her heritage. She was very proud of the Dutch people. Many of her family are still living in Holland. She graduated from Hillcrest High school in 1969. Shortly thereafter, she worked for Doctors Business Management Services in Salt Lake City. During the year of 1972, Jeannette's uncle Hank asked if she would like to work for him at Beacon Metals and Hardware, she accepted the position. There she met the true love of her life, Jim Miles. On September 20, 1974, a beautiful fall day, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. On that day in September, a true love story began. Jeannette believed in hard work and being honest in everything she set out to accomplish in life. Her goals were simple, raise a wonderful family and believe in Jesus Christ. Her testimony of the Savior is very strong and she shared it often with many. Her example of giving is without saying, perfect. She always thought of others needs and concerns in everyday situations. She is and will be known for her exceptional belief in fighting to the end, and she did so, in her fight against cancer. She never said, "I quit!" That phrase was not part of her vocabulary. She was envied by many. She could look so beautiful and would be mowing the lawns and working in our yard, in 100 degree summer heat. She would say, "Not a big deal." Her attitude was to just get the job done and stop complaining. Her house was always in order, from the outside to the inside, nothing out of place. She supported her family in everything good from watching the dance programs to sporting events. She is the wife and mom that everyone wanted for their own.

She served in many church callings in each of the LDS Wards she lived in and enjoyed serving in all of her various callings. Her favorite calling was serving with her husband in the Singles Ward. She touched the lives of many single adults and they loved her ability to find fun in all things. Jeannette leaves behind on this earth, the man who loves everything about her and worships the ground she walks on, Jim. The three beautiful children that God loaned to her; Chet, Tara and Erika. She loved all the new members of her family like her own, Janet, Juston, and Shawn as well as those wonderful Grand-babies; Shyenne, Ashlee, Brayden, Zack, Kylee, Ethan, Madison, and Little Gabe. Jeannette's motto was to treat and love them all exactly the same. She is survived by her mother (Cobi Ombach), sisters (Erna, Willy and Cobi), and one brother (Ron). Also, many aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews. Jeannette will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was our strength and joy. Because of her, we are better people and will continue on, doing God's work in her memory.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2006, 12:00 noon at the Winder 12th Ward Chapel, 1100 E. 4350 So., Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may call Friday, November 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S.) and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment, Elysian Burial Grounds, 1100 E. 4650 So., Salt Lake City, UT.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to all the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Utah Cancer Specialists for all their love and support during her cancer treatment. Also, thanks to the many extended family, close friends and others who shared their love, concern, and prayers for Jeannette. Thank You!!!
