Todd M. Godwin

Todd M. Godwin, 53, of Berkeley, Calif., died Jan. 5, 2011. Born in Newark, he was raised in Millburn and lived in New York City for many years.

Mr. Godwin began his career as a stand-up comic before becoming a copywriter at J. Walter Thompson. He created award-winning advertising campaigns at Levine Huntley Schmidt & Beaver and BBDO advertising firms before becoming executive vice president at Lowe and Partners.

He was a graduate of Millburn High School and the University of Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife, Marian Allen Godwin; his daughter, Mia Leanne; two sisters, Nora Johnson of Springfield and Carol Saft of New York City; and a brother, Paul of Montara, Calif.

Services were held in Berkeley with arrangements by Fernwood Funeral Home, Mill Valley, Calif. Memorial contributions may be made to the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Association (http://www.rsds.org).
