Best/Worst/Most unusual Teachers at Custer or Jr. Hi of your choice Posted Thursday, January 24, 2013 04:12 PM My favorite teacher was Mr. Lightfoot who taught Civics at Edison Jr. Hi and followed our class to Custer. He made the class come alive. On test day he would hang a noose on the blackboard. One day he was really dramatic and taught by standing on top the desk like a statue. My old addled brain doesn't remember the topic but I can still see him up there! He sure got our attention. Shirley Sherwood was the most inspirational teacher at Custer! She taught large groups...musicians.singers, dancers, lighting experts, costume designers, actors and actresses and managed to keep them all in control (except for some of the 62 grads.) She was a true inspiration who gave me (and many others) a life long love of theatre. sal |

RE: Best/Worst/Most unusual Teachers at Custer or Jr. Hi of your choice Posted Monday, November 24, 2014 04:01 PM I would certainly go along with Mr. Lightfoot, but I don't remember him standing on the desk. John Lange

RE: Best/Worst/Most unusual Teachers at Custer or Jr. Hi of your choice Posted Tuesday, November 25, 2014 10:05 AM Good Morning Sally, We are living in the town of Grafton (as opposed to the village) just north of Milwaukee. My wife Betsy works at Charter Maufacturig as a web developer/internet specialist. My oldest daughter lives in Florida with her husband. My son Ian goes to UW Plateville and is majoring in business. My daughter Shelby goes to UW Parkside najoring in art. It was good to hear from you. I often wonder what happened to my classmates. The only one I have had any contact with is Keith Jung on Facebook. I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving and a Happy Birthday. John (The class of 1962 must be a bunch of Democrats trying to limit you First Amendment rights) |
