Dale Bakken Found peace on May 15, 2015 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Susan (nee Kienappel) for 43 years. Loving dad of Lisa Flaten. Proud grandpa of Ava, Cora and Ian Flaten and Marisa Bernstein. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Memorial visitation Friday 9-10:45 AM with a memorial mass at 11 AM at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (6060 W. Loomis Road, Greendale). Dale was a teacher and football coach at Nathan Hale High School for 35 years. -

It is hard to believe that we lost another dear class mate. I know how active Dale was in bringing about our "WONDERFUL 50TH CLASS REUNION". Like in school, Dale was a hands on - get it done person and will be missed by so many. Like others, I'm so thrilled to have renewed our friendship at the reunion. I can't believe it! I played the CD from the reunion on Friday, the 15th, thinking how great that was Dale spent the time to make the CD's for the reunion, It was wonderful it was to share some time with him along with the rest of the committee working on the reunion. He surely will be missed by his family and friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

A death has occured and everything is changed by this event. We are painfully aware that life can never be the same again, that yesterday is over, that relationships once rich have ended. But there is another way to look upon this truth. If life went on the same without the presence of the one who has died, we could only conclude that the life we here celebrate made no contribution, filled no space, meant nothing. The fact that this individual left behind a place that cannot be filled is a high tribute to this individual. It seems such a shame that after 50 years we had a chance to connect and reconnect with our classmates only to have another one leave our circle. It was such a pleasure to work with Dale on the reunion committee. What a nice soft spoken 'do whatever had to be done' kind of guy. I'm just glad I had the opportunity to enjoy his friendship.
