Michael passed on June 15, 1987. Michael and I went to grade school, Custer, and one year at Carroll College together. He lived a few blocks away, and so many stories come to mind as I write this. Trips to Chicago, interesting adventures with his green TR 3 sports car. Or him coming into the Clark Super 100 gas station I worked at, having me fix a exhaust system on his dad's car because he just drove over a boulevard island and tore it all up.
He was a good man, smart as a whip, funny, adventuresome, but sometimes not real practical. Michael was a true friend, always there, helpful, and understanding.
His folks, George and Hazel, were fantastic people, George was a WW II veteran, injured in Italy. Hazel was always in the kitchen, coffee going, and we spent lots of time talking, and sometimes doing homework. We lost track of each other, something I am sorry for.
