I'm  very proud to say I knew Ken back in the day, he was a true Villard Cruiser . I have many good memories of Ken  and the drag racing we would do on Villard  and Wisconsin Ave. He loved the sport of Drag Racing as much as Dick Boetcher and I , he also was friends with Dick and most every night we would see who had the faster car. I remember one night I was racing him south bound on Teutonia just south of Silver Spring and a motorcycle cop was going north , the cop turned on his red lights and started turning around, Ken and I did not hesitate to keep the pedal  to the metal , the cop didn't catch neither one of us, great fun out running the cop . Ken did get into 2 very bad accidents  , one was when he totaled out his 58 Chevy at 37th and Silver Spring and he also totaled out his 60 Pontiac on Wisconsin Ave. when his Tri-Power stuck open and he hit the bridge that went over the Milwaukee River.

I talked to him about 8 years ago and he was just getting better from a stroke, then I called him a few years ago and his wife told me he had another stroke and was in a nursing home and would never be coming home again .

Up date , I just talked with Ken's wife and she told me Ken had passed away Sunday , April 14, 2013 from lung cancer . In all he had 3 strokes .
