Raymond E. Larson

Joined the Air Force in 1960 (4 years). While I was in the service my running buddy, from Texas, had me start writing a girl friend of his girl friend. After Air Force tech school, I put in to be stationed in Germany, Spain and Japan. They stationed me in Waco Texas. That caused me to meet my pen pal and we were married in 1961. Attended college and worked part time until 1966. I designed our house and had it built in 1972. Worked as an Electronic design engineer and traveled to most of the 48 states. The company I was working for decided to move our design center to Ohio. I was given a choice of moving to Ohio or to their manufacturing plant in Matamoras Mex. I spent 17 months traveling back and forth from Fort Worth and Brownsville weekly. Then I started my own sign shop and ran it for 3½ years. I never worked so hard and long in my life. Then I held several engineering positions until I decided to retire. We just sold 10 of the 14 properties we owned which has been a large relief. I design and build custom furniture for a hobby. Bought and twice restored a ’57 Chevy Nomad station wagon. Always wanted to own a ’57 Chevy in high school but could only afford a ’55 because gas was so high at $0.33 a gallon. :-)
I'm sorry I have to add the fact that my wife of 55+ years, Royce Lynne, passed away on Sept 21, 2016.
