David “Chopper” LeRoy Crawford, 75, of Mondovi, WI died Friday, June 27, 2025 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. He was born November 30, 1949 in Mondovi; son of George and Lela (Nelson) Crawford.

Chopper graduated from Mondovi High School where he liked playing football. He helped on the family farm in rural Mondovi and he also worked doing logging for numerous years.

In 1970 he married Lynn Luedtke, from that marriage they had two children Paula and Lucas.

Chopper enjoyed DJing for numerous local establishments through out the years. Chopper was a jokester and would call local establishments with the joke of the day.  He also enjoyed watching football with his buddies, Jimmy “Pinky” Anderson and Terrell Anderson, along with his nephew Scott Mahlum. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Paula (Pete) Kroll of Eau Claire, her children, Devin (Sarah) Davis, Brody (Noelle) Davis; his son Lucas ( Carrie) Crawford of Mondovi and their children, Zavier, Ashton (Maleah), Aden (Erin), Isabel Crawford; great grandchildren, Harper, Lydia and Owen Davis and Winston Crawford; sister, Katie Mahlum; sister-in-law, Jane Crawford; nieces and nephews, Debbie Kittleson, Randy Rowan, Steve (Carrie), Scott (Tammi), Brian (Laura) Mahlum, Jenny (Randolph) Souza, Tami Myren, and Toni Schmidtknecht.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lela (Nelson) Crawford; sister, Barbara Rowen; brother, Donald Crawford; brothers-in-law, Dale Mahlum, Thomas Rowan Sr.; sister-in-law, Jeannine Laehn; nephews, Greg Schmidtknecht, Thomas Rowan Jr.; and numerous aunts and uncles.
