I knew Diane from grammar school.  I believe Diane was a beautiful person, and I'm sorry that we didn't get to see more of each other.  We lost touch during our high school years, but Diane sent me a letter many years later when she was living in Spain.

We corresponded for a while and then, lost touch again.  She seemed happy and loved her family.  My deepest condolences go out to them.  So sorry it is a year later, but this is the first time I heard of her death on MHS website.

Diane was a friend of mine since our days at Watchung.  We lost touch after corresponding about her coming from her home in Spain  to the 50th reunion in 2011, which she was unable to do.  Thanks to her son Andrew we recently learned of her passing back in 2015.  Diane was one of six children who lived in the Messa home at 317 Grove Street.  Jean, Carolyn, Donald and Diane have passed and Elizabeth and Beatrice are still living. I remember the family well.   I was so sorry to hear the news. Here we are at the 40th Reunion at the Marlboro Inn, Louise Love, Diane and I.   RIP Diane.

Diane was my neighbor as well as my friend.  We often walked to school together, beginning with Watchung School, then George Inness Jr. High, and MHS.  In addition to sharing school events and projects, we enjoyed carefree days of summer fun.  I remember there was always a lot of activity at Diane's house with her 4 sisters and 1 brother contributing to the good times.

We were still in touch when she married.  She had 2 sons, Andrew and Jeffrey.  Diane taught high school English and French in Spain for many years until she retired.  She sent me photos of the 40th MHS reunion which I was unable to attend.  She was unable to attend the MHS 50th and sadly, we lost touch.  When her son recently wrote of her passing, he said, " My mother always spoke so much about Montclair and her lifelong friends she was so fond of."

Diane's family brought her great joy and she was very proud of them.  She was a very giving and loving person, and I am grateful for her life and the special memories I have.

I am so sad to hear of Diane's Passing .  I remember visiting her in Spain many years ago. She had a sweet and gentle nature.  My thoughts go out to her family.
