It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert L. Socci, affectionately known as Bob, on December 31, 2023. Born on February 6, 1943, in Montclair, NJ, Bob's life was marked by love, dedication, and a distinguished career as a chemist. Bob, preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary, in 2016, shared a life of love and laughter that stood the test of time. A devoted father, he is survived by his children, Melissa, Robert and his wife Dana, and Brian, along with grandchildren, Victoria and Nicholas. Rooted in Montclair, NJ, Bob embodied values instilled during his upbringing, carrying them through life. Raising his family in Cedar Grove, NJ, he epitomized the principles of family, hard work, and commitment. Bob enjoyed a distinguished career as a chemist, leaving an indelible mark in the cosmetic industry with over 16 patents in nail lacquer. His professional achievements reflected his relentless pursuit of excellence and endless curiosity. Known for his quiet calm nature, Bob's sense of humor, kindness, and genuine interest endeared him to friends and family. Whether playing golf, listening to music, or playing chess, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. As we bid farewell to Robert L. Socci, we cherish the memories of a well-lived life. May he find eternal peace reunited with Mary, and may his legacy of love and achievement inspire us all. Viewing hours Wednesday, January 3rd, from 3-7pm at Caggiano Memorial Home, 62 Grove St, Montclair (Prayer service to begin at 6:30PM). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Alzheimer's Association, alz.org.

Bob was a waonderful clasmate and friend to many of us. It days like today that we recall how easy it is to lose touch with our school chums for most of our lives. Bob was always pleasant to spend time with and he was one of many who made ou Montclair HHigh days so memorable for all of us. Farewell Bob!

I have fond memories of Bob from Rand School, George Inness to MHS: we played on the Rand school fields and across the street from his house at George Inness. He always had a kind smile.
Rest in Peace Bob.
