I knew Karin from 1st grade at Northeast Elementary school. We lived about the same distance from that school, on opposite sides of Grove Street. Me on Alexander Ave. and Karin on Elizabeth Road. Many from that general neighborhood. Me. Karin, Don Cameron, Molly Mortimer, Danielle Kuzmic, Andy Johnson, Lynne Bowie, and Karin's cousin Linda Muhler. Karin was present for our 50th class reunion in 2011 - I can't seem to add that photo of her here. So will post it in the message area. May God bring comfort to Karin's family. Wayne Hansen

Karin was a childhood friend. We went to Northeast together and played together. I recall visiting her some years ago and was delighted to learn that she and her husband raised Golden Retrievers. I like Lynne Bowie Dillingham's suggestion that we in the class of '61 find a dog rescue service to which we could donate money in Karin's memory. Pease and sympathy to her family. Very sad news of Karin's passing   We were  cousins as well as part of the Alexander/ Marquette "gang". So many good times with Donna Molly  Andy June Mortimer and my pony Cindy.  Lucky us to have lived in those days in Montclair.. Later Karin and I raised Golden Retrievers. She also illustrated a book for Gold Rush Kennels. "Raising a Golden Puppy".Her dogs were award winners.  May she Rest In Peace.

As many I've known Karen since kindergarten. We reconnected when she brought her grand children to nursery school. They looked just like their grandmother as a little girl! She was a wonderful breeder of Golden retrieves and very involved with her two son's families. It is always so sad and I hope they will find comfort in all their memories.

Here is a photo of Karin from our 50th class reunion in the Fall of 2011. It is a cropped image from the group photo of those who attended Mt. Hebron Junior High School. I do not have any other photos of Karin from Northeast Elementary school or Mt. Hebron Jr. High school. Karin is in the 9th grade class photo from Mt. Hebron but the image quality on my copy is too poor to post. Enjoy this somewhat recent photo of our classmate. Wayne Hansen.

As others have said, Karin and I went through Mount Hebron and the High School together and had many classes together.  I ran into her one day and we laughed because we both have two children, both sons, both named Peter and Eric/Erik.   I used to collect newspaper articles about classmates, mostly engagement and wedding articles, and I found Karin and Dick's in my yellowing collection. Karin and Dick must have met at work as they both worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance.

The spokesperson for the Golden Retriever Club of NJ informed me that the Sept. 11 2021 dog show will be dedicated to Karin. The show will take place at North Branch Park in Bridgewater NJ.  It will be in the afternoon but the exact one will be determined once the number of entrants are fixed.  Call Hank Hahn at 201-288-0478 if you have questions.

Hank also told me that Karin's family has requested that any memorial gifts in Karin's name be made through St. Hubert's Animal Rescue in Madison NJ.  Donations can be made online at sthuberts.org or you can call Carolyn at 973-377-2295 ext 244 during working hours (til 4:30 EST).  My first online attempt was after working hours, and was rejected, but the second one went through.  I talked to Carolyn this morning and she recommended donations by phone.

For some reason I did not post here when I first learned of Karin's death.  Karin was a classmate of mine and a good friend.  I especially remember her fondly for when I reconnected with her some years ago and discovered she was breeding Golden Retrievers.  I am and always have been a huge dog lover so that really endeared her to me all over again.

The Golden Retriever Club of NJ is dedicating its Sept, 11 specialty show to Karin Stadtlander Walter. This is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at North Branch Park, 355 Milltown Road, Bridgewater, NJ. The show is part of a larger show, so do not park in general parking.  Instead, look for the "specialties" entrance.  After the road turns to the right, look to the left for some tents and dog rings set up by the river. If you are coming from 202, the entrance will be the first road on the left; if coming from 22, it will be the last entrance on the right.  The driveway makes a right hand turn.  Look down the hill to the left for the additional tents and rings and vehicles. Bring your own chairs, water, food, sun protection, etc. There will be a main tent for exhibitors and judges and a club tent for workers, but things are still in flux due to COVID.  There used to be food vendors, but they are not close to this setup.  There is a Wegman's around the corner on Rt 22.

Thanks to Ida, which flooded the area where Karin's memorial dog show was scheduled to be held, the directions I posted no longer apply. Please check https://pdf.infodog.com/MPs/249/jpg249.pdf for the updated info on pp. 10-11. The show is listed on p.10 for Ring 17. A map of parking is on p. 11. If the show is cancelled, notice will be posted on https://facebook.com/gsgrc.
