Ralph Yarnell Jr., 70, of Quakertown, Pa., met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday (Sept. 17, 2013). He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon (McVay) Yarnell, and their four children, Ralph III, Brion (wife Carrie), Emily, Craig, and his precious granddaughter, Reagan Arizona. Ralph is the son of the late Rev. Ralph and Hilda Yarnell. His sister, Ruth Heidorn (George), lives in Marietta.

He attended Washington School and completed his freshman year at Marietta High School before moving to New Jersey with his parents. He graduated from Montclair (N.J.) High School. He is a 1965 graduate of Shelton College, and received a MA in Educational Administration from Ohio University. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

In his early years he worked tirelessly to support Christian education - even lobbying in Washington, D.C., for a year, representing the American Association of Christian Schools. His life's work as a church administrator was served in Bangor, Mass., and in Sellersville, Pa. He was an avid sports fan following the Boston Celtics, Cincinnati Reds, and every team for which his children played.

So sad to lose another wonderful classmate. Ralph was a good person and spent his life doing good for others.
