I have received some emails from classmates that I thought I would share.   My New Year's resolution was to buy only made in the USA items was greeted by this information from Jim Moyer.  You may have read it before but it is well worth reading again!

Hallmark Cards are mostly made in China!  They are made in China and are more expensive.  They can be bought at Dollar Tree for 50 cents each and are made in the USA.

Kitchen Aid products are made in the USA which was a big relief to me because I love KitchenAid! lol

A wastebasket found in WalMart was made in China and sold for $8.99.  In another department a wastebasket (made in the USA) could be purchased for $2.50.

Hose attachments at Lowe's were all made in China.  Ace Hardware had hose attachments made in the USA.

Hershey's candy is now made in Mexico.

Colgate toothpaste is made in Mexico, but Crest is made in USA (or at least was when this hit the internet)

Kroger stores has light bulbs branded "Everyday Value" made in USA at a company in Cleveland, Ohio.  GE light bulbs at the Kroger stores were higher priced and were made in Mexico.

Bounce dryer sheets cost more money and are made in Canada while the "Everyday Value" brand cost less and made in USA.

Now I don't know about you, but I am making a serious effort to buy only USA made items.  One thing I know is we will save a lot of money because I am having a tough time finding made in the USA items for everything I purchase so I will be doing without that item until someone wises up and starts making it here!  I challenge you to do the same thing.

Observations on Growing Older

~Your kids are becoming you....and you don't like them...but your grandkids are perfect!

~Going out is good......coming home is better!

~You forget names,,,but that is OK because other people forgot they even knew you!

~You realize you are never going to be really good at anything....especially golf.

~The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore.  (Whew, that one was deep!)

~You sleep better on a lounge chair with the tv blaring than  in bed.  It is called "pre-sleep".

~You miss the days when everything worked with just and "ON" and "Off" switch.

~You tend to use more 4 letter words...."what?"..."when?"....????

~Now that you can afford to wear expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere.

~You notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"

~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.

~Everyone whispers.

~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet...2 of which you will never wear.

~But old is good in some things: old songs, old movies, and best of all, old friends.
