20-Year Reunion

Darryn Brown is heading up the mess, assisted by Chad Wheeler, Heidi Socha, Julie Krause (Hall), Dawn Tate(Johnston), et. al.

We will kick things off on Friday night, July 31 at O'Malley's Bar in Palmer Lake.  Call it a mixer.  Call it a get-together.  Call it a beer-swilling good time.  Call it a night.  Call a cab.

We will gather again on Saturday night, August 1st for dinner and dancing at Embassy Suites Hotel near I-25 and Woodmen Road in Colorado Springs.  Social Hour begins at 5:30 and dinner will be served at 6:45.  See the interactive map below.  Obviously the dinner is intended for adults only, but if your children will be joining you, kids menus are available.  Darryn will be trying to convert the senior year slide show to PowerPoint, which should be a blast.  However, if you have any electronic photos you'd like to share, please emal them to DarrynB307@myEDL.com.

We will block out about 10 rooms at this time.  When you sign up to attend the reunion, please specify whether you need to reserve a room.  Please note we will not reserve the room for you (see below for the hotel web site so you can contact them), we simply need to keep track of reservations so we can block out more or less rooms if necessary.  Room rates are about $120 per night which will not be covered by your ticket purchase - it will be your individual cost.

Ticket prices will be $60 for alumni and $30 for spouses/partners.  Payment is due by June 15 so we can square up with Embassy Suites.  Tickets will go up to $75/$40 after June 15.  We will be looking at ways to use this money to make Saturday night and Sunday more enjoyable.  If we have a great turnout, we'll have more funds available to make even more things enjoyable, including some free drinks, possibly a catered lunch on Sunday, etc.

Honoring those who have served this great country.  You'll get a lot of hand shakes, a few hugs, some high-fives, and a few drinks, but you'll also be treated to dinner, compliments of the L-P Class of 1989. 

Please note: There are 2 ways to pay for your items.  You can either write a check payable to "Darryn Brown - LP Reunion" with "Class of 1989" in the memo and mail it to: Darryn Brown, 5250 Timber Ridge Drive, Elizabeth, CO 80107.  Or, you can use PayPal to charge your items to a credit card account or your PayPal account.  Obviously, paying the PayPal fees would be nice to avoid, but please do whatever is most convenient for you.  Please specify which method of payment you prefer when you sign up for the reunion.

We are looking for volunteers to help set up the dinner on Saturday night.  Please send Darryn or Chad a note if you are interested in helping.

We are planning on a park picnic on Sunday, August 2nd.  Do we cater some BBQ?  Do we brown-bag it?  How about a potluck?  Give us your opinions.  Perhaps something more enjoyable.  We really need input here.  Drop us a note.

We are attempting to gather interest in a golf tournament on Saturday.  This would be open to classmates, spouses, fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, faculty... pretty much anyone with a pulse.  This will be an extra event with relatively few participants, so the cost will be the responsibility of the participant.

Any additional "side trips" are completely up to those who want to attend.  If you have an idea please use the "Message Forum" to get the word out.  If there is terrific interest in one certain activity, we are happy to assist with coordination.

If you are attending the reunion, you do not have to stay at the Embassy Suites Hotel.  Our reunion costs are not tied to room reservations.  Other nearby hotels include:

Microtel Inn, Extended Stay, Hampton Inn, and Hyatt Summerfield Suites.
