Frank R. Zamora Jr. died peacefully in his sleep December 17, 2006 after a long battle with cancer.

Frank was born in Morenci on June 5, 1950. He lived his life the way he wanted and always had good friends by his side. He graduated from Morenci HS in 1969 and began working in the mine with his father.

Frank married Cecilia Martinez and had a son, Daniel Zamora, in 1981. After moving to Tucson for a few short years in the 1980s, Frank moved back to Safford, and divorced. He was employed as assistant manager at Kmart in Safford, and where he met his beloved partner, Tracy Sotelo.

More than a year before he died, Frank received a kidney transplant and able to to do many of the things he looked forward to while on dialysis. Frank's stories of his childhood and life in Morenci will be missed by all who knew him. He was a man of enormous generosity and sensitivity who gave whatever he could to those around him.

Frank is survived by his son, his mother, sister, brother and partner of 11 years & her grandson.
