Investment banker for 25 years or so (including 5 years living in Hong Kong and doing business in China, Korea, India, and Asean countries) - climate finance since, currently SME for Argonne National Lab on the DOE’s Net Zero World project, now helping Indonesia to reduce coal-fired power generation. But I get to Chicago -see Gipper & Wilbur - would love to see more too!

Of course; camping out in the Circle Drive is tough to top! Especially Doug Krebs sleeping in a tree. Hank Szmankski teaching math and putting a point on the chalkboard and asking what should we call that point? Ruegs: let’s call it Sam!

Shooting warm beers at Gipper’s house before parties or sneaking out of Ruegs’ house with wine bottles (from Fritz’ cellar) in our blue jeans. Miss Trout’s World History was my favorite class at PHS - coach McGee’s Sociology a close second.

Take physics and more advanced math. Oh, and not quit JV basketball…what I lacked in talent (plenty) I enjoyed making up for with hustle.

Colorado - hiking, (and formerly) biking & skiing

Brain surgery in 2016…but I’m (mostly) travel with a hiking pole, wear an ankle brace, and take a bunch of strong meds

Road biked from NYC to DC, 300 miles in 3 days, to raise money for 9/11 victims a few years after the tragedy (I was in Midtown Manhattan when the planes hit). Was the lead capital markets banker at Morgan Stanley for Google’s (first big ever) Dutch auction IPO in 2004. Testified before The House Energy & Public Works Committee in 2009 on how a US carbon market would work as part of the Waxman Markey cap & trade legislation (passed the House but failed in the Senate the next year) when I was a Visiting Fellow at Duke University’s Nicholas Institute of Environmental Policy.
