Denise Wylie Hanstad

I am happily married to John (MVHS 1981) and we just celebrated our 23rd anniversary this past June. I graduated from Skagit Valley College in 1985 and we lived in Seattle for our 1st year of marriage while John finished up at SPU. Then we moved back to the Skagit Valley where John has worked in banking and I did childcare from our home for about 13 years. We are so thankful to God for the blessing of our four children. In 2000, we bought my grandparent's house on Fir Island just a half-mile from where I grew up. We are members at Bethany Covenant Church in Mount Vernon and I currently am employed at Bethany Christian Preschool (now that all our kids are in school full-time). In August, our family will be going with a team from our church to work at a home for needy children in Mexico. We love spending time with family and friends and hanging out at the family place on Lopez Island.

I have good memories from Swing Choir, the school play "Bye Bye Birdie", going to the Tolo (with my future husband!), Mrs. Ruhl's class, and hanging out with friends.
