Tim...Timmy...Chester,

I may have to search for my LBL photos... :) and remember going to Pizza Hut and making pizzas there? Also, making the rockets, playing flag football, saving the whales, and of course the Seminoles!

Denise,
Remember making the volcanos? I bet Ricky Sanders remembers his little brother's footprint in one of them that were left outside to dry. Ms. Stowe our music teacher, Mrs. Wisinger our gym teacher.

Mr. Muth launched a mouse in one of those rockets, and when it got out it was mad - bit me on the finger and when I yelled, he said, "Powers, you big sissy." LBL - every night, they played "I love rock and roll." Those were the days.

Pam Romans,

I never had "Profisora Bennett" but I had a class next door. La Cuckaracha was in the air all the time. It sounded like you guys had a fun class.

Boy, after checking out the website (great job by the way)we were all so "Breakfast Club". I never realized it till now. What fun times! I have really enjoyed reading all of the profiles and seeing how successful everyone has become. In addition, the beautiful families that all came from our "Breakfast Club". Who da thunk it. Unfortunately I will be out of town on vacation and will truly miss not getting to the Reeunion. I will try to post some pics of my son, my wife (if she'll let me), and of myself so that I may share with others. I am sure everyone wants to see fat, bald, old "Robbie". High up on everyone's list I am sure lol. Miss you guys. Email or call any time.

Hey Monique! Me again! Great website I've got to admit so far I've been scared to look at the pix gallery for fear of finding myself! I thought I would give this a shot and try to see if anyone else has seen any of the 8th grade graduating class of Buchanan, the year of our Lord, 1984? or as my little darlings refer to it as "The Stone Age" My 6 Year old asked me this morning if and I quote, "Mommy do you remember what the cave men used to wear?" No BS! As if I WOULD know! Can any of the rest of you "Class of 88's Greats" top that one? I'd love to hear some of your probably simualar stories. Oh yeah, Do all of ya'll just HATE that song "1985" UGGGH! My 12 year old has that as her ringtone.....Just for yours trully.. I rest my case. Love ya' Mo see ya' Friday!

I teach college freshmen, and I'm continually amazed at what they come up with. The following is an actual conversation that took place before class one day last fall:

Girl #1: I'd like to go to a Motley Crue concert. (This was really funny because she's such a sweet looking young little 18-year-old. I couldn't imagine her listening to '80's metal bands.)

Girl #2: Who's Motley Crue?

(At this point, my jaw dropped to the floor in amazement.)

Girl #1: They're a classic rock band. My dad listens to them.

Later in the semester, Girl #1 said that her mother was 36 years old. I was 37 at the time. It was a sad day when I realized that the people I went to high school with could have children in college. And that the music we listened to is considered "classic rock."

Replying to the post about Motley Crue... Mike and I joke that you know you're getting old when the music you listened to in high school shows up on the K-Tel "music of the ___" infomercials!

I have another story along that line...

When my youngest was in Kindergarten, she looked at my Father and asked with all sincerity..."Granddaddy, what was it like being a slave?"

My Dad didn't think it was the least bit funny!!!

Monique, first of all, what a sad question to even think about asking, but I can imagine how horrified he was for her to think he was that old! Funny!

Question for you -- regarding the game on Friday night, are we supposed to bring food, drink, etc... to have and/or share tailgating time? I didn't see anything about food mentioned on the site.

thanks!
Summer

Hey, guys! I can't wait to see everyone. I will try very hard to actually talk at the reunion (Carl Frasier wrote in my yearbook senior year that I was one of the quietest people he had ever met). I wish I were 20lbs lighter for this (I quit running in 2003 after training for and running 2000 Music City Marathon did a number on my knees, and it's amazing how soon the weight piled on and now refuses to leave). But, at least thanks to the WONDERFUL magic that Jayson Morgan works on my head...at least the gray will be hidden, if the weight is not :). See you all soon. Great job, Monique, with the website and the organization of this event.

The staff at Oakland will not allow us to bring Outside food inside the stadium. They have a concessions area where they will be grilling hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.

Our gathering area is inside the gate, so the short answer is no, you will not be allowed to bring food inside.

Hi, everyone. I know that time is running out, but Costco (and, I am sure other places may) can turn those old VHS tapes into DVDs for a nominal fee if anyone is interested in converting the old Sr talent show tape into a DVD. See you all tonight!

Great website, Yeah the Drydock was fun; but does anyone remember hanging out at the Arcade? I wasn't allow to go I would only hear people talk about the Arcade. So one night i was suppose to have been babysitting for my sister. I did until the kids fell asleep then i stole her car and drove to the Arcade. Who did I see when i got there? Shondale Clark one of Murfreesboro finest (police) who also happens to be my sisters brother-in-law.HAHAHHA she still doesn't know and that long scratch she had on that Nissan Stanza was from me side swiping the mailbox, I told her the boys did it with the bikes.

Hello again from this side of the planet! Just wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a joyous and prosperous new year! Monte and I will actually be in Houston, Texas from the 24th to the 31st of December. If anyone is in the area, drop us a line and maybe we can hook-up! Strange thing to be flying on new year's eve, but I've never done it before, so what the heck!
