Monique,I am cracking up regarding the story in your profile -- never would have remembered the "heel in the outlet" story, but now that you've mentioned it, I can see it in my mind so clearly -- it was hilarious!

Hey guys, great website. I saw Mark Hardison at a charity basketball game and he hasn't changed a bit - super person. I bet you (Monique and Summer) are still nice as ever. Me, I've gotten meaner over the years :^)

Take care and keep high heels out of electric sockets.

Wow, does time fly... just seems like yesterday we were listening to 80s music, waiting on 6th period to hurry up, hoping their was something decent in the cafeteria, or better yet, waiting until we could drive to GET AWAY from the cafeteria at lunch ;) Excellent website! nice to see all of you again! So how has everyne been? Would you cinsider that you've changed, or still the same at heart?

Monique, I remember when your heel got stuck but what struck me was how you could laugh at yourself...a very important trait to possess!

I see many of the people we graduated here and there. I ran into two today at La Siesta! I think it will be great to see everyone and wish them well!

Hobgood Patriots rule - well we had to change our name because of Oakland, so the Hobgood Heroes rule :^)

Monique,

A great website! It is really good to see how everyone is doing. Your daughters are very beautiful young ladies. I too have been blessed with an "exciting" life over the last twenty years.
Sadly, I cannot attend the reunion and see all the familiar faces but I will be "out of the country" at the time. However, it sounds like it is shaping up to be a great time. I hope everyone is well and God bless all of you and your families!

Curtis,
God bless you and keep you safe. Thank you for what you do for our country!
Your kids are adorable:)

It is interesting how many here have stories going back to Elementary School. Bill, I saw your comments about Hobgood. Personally, I'd have to say that Campus School probably produced the most well adjusted students. I'm just slightly biased. :)

If you grew up in Murfreesboro, you probably have a LBL (Land Between the Lakes) story to share, regardless of where you attended elementary. :)

I'm with Monique - Campus School rules! We ended up at LBM (Camp Treemont - which we nicknamed Land Between the Mountains) though. I really enjoyed the hikes there and the cave we were able to explore while there. I think we can all agree that Central Middle School was the best (no other public school option at the time in the 'boro). My how times have changed over 20 years!

Sabrina,

I was in the back seat that day! I was just telling my girls about it. I was sitting beside Sabrina Clark and she started screaming like Eddie Murphy's aunt --- "Help me Jesus! Lord, Help me Jesus!!!"

That car door had never opened before!

I have no idea what happened that night, but we must have not closed the door completly. We were lucky no one was thrown from the car. We survived and continued to wherever we were going.

How many people remember The Dry Dock?

Oh my gosh, I was just trying to remember the name of that place yesterday! The Dry Dock. Wow. That's a blast from the past!

Christy Willis (Robinson)

I remember the Dry Dock like it was yesterday. I love the website! I hope that more people will add their profiles. I love seeing what everyone is doing. Hobgood Heroes RULE!

Wasn't it ~our era~ who named it "Hobgood Heros"? We must've been some class, for a school to still keep it after 20 years :)

Who am I imitating... (as I smash a hole in the drywall of your parents house during a high school party)?...

"OOPS, I'm sorry.... didn't mean to".

Answer: The master of destruction: Michael "Mugga" Heath

Mugga, I'm almost looking forward to you "accidentaly" breaking a couple of my ribs or "accidenatly" blacking my eye while you & I are just goofing around swapping stories 'bout the good ole days.
Hope to see you, Kristi and the kids @ reunion.

Okay, has anyone had the dream where someone from RHS calls and tells you, "We need your diploma back. You don't have enough credits. You need to repeat Mrs. Miller's English class. When can we expect you?"
Seriously, was I the only one traumatized from that class? LOL

06/25/08 03:59 PM #20

Beth Belt (Dempsey)

You know she's retired (looks EXACTLY the same) and lives down the street from me. I believe her nickname was Killer Miller:)

06/25/08 05:37 PM #21

Elizabeth Sloan

That is hilarious! Killer Miller. She sure traumatized me. I was afraid of her! :) Obviously, if I still have that dream every now and then. Wonder what Mr. Vanzant would have to say about that!
I hope she is enjoying her retirement. I know she really had our best interest at heart. Or did she?? :)

How's life treating you Beth?

Christy... I still have my Dry Dock badge in a lock box w/ all the OHS 'club' cards. LOL! I am laughing so hard and only cus of your post did I even remember it! :)
Thanks so much Monique for making such an incredible site for all of us! :)

We instantly date ourselves when you assume that the RHS/OHS game is at Murphy Center. :) For those that don't know - Riverdale and Oakland both have their own stadiums!

Anybody remember Members Only jackets? Can you believe they are coming back in style?

06/26/08 10:06 AM #24

Victoria Bilbrey (Coronel)

Yeah, and OP is back, too. My kids say they're cool. My kids are laughing about the fact that some don't know about Oakland and Riverdale having their own stadiums now. Some of the songs are back, sung by other bands like Nada Surf. It's funny how they look at me and my husband and wonder how we know the words to the song.

Journey's coming back to Nashville in August with their new lead singer who sounds just like Steve Perry. I saw Men at Work and R.E.O. Speedwagon at the Wildhorse Saloon last summer. I never thought that the 80's would roll around again, but I'm glad they have.

Thanks Monique for setting up this site. It's nice to get back in touch with everyone.

You know what's really strange is doing what I do as an Educational Assistant for English as a Second Language, I've had to go to class with some of our former teachers, talk about flashbacks to high school, I feel like I never left. Dr. Vanzant is now at Blackman High School. Several of our high school and middle school teachers are now substitute teachers--Mrs. Murphy, Mrs. Baltimore, etc. and some are principals--Mr. Tom Nolan, Ms. Vick, etc.
