MUSCATINE, Iowa - Michael E. Adams, 61, of Muscatine, died on Monday, July 25, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

The family requests that memorials be made to the family in care of Melissa Adams. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Adams was born June 22, 1950, in Muscatine, the son of Ellis Harding and Louise Lichtenwald Adams. He married Janet Gailene Franks Aug. 7, 1971, in Muscatine. She preceded in death.

He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and his dachshund dogs.

Those left to honor his memory include two sons, Ellis Adams and wife, Rachael of Muscatine, Andrew Adams and wife, Jennie of Muscatine; one daughter, Melissa Adams of Muscatine; eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Virgil Smith; wife; a granddaughter, Brittany Knox.
