
BILLIE MAE BURNS
MUSCATINE, Iowa – Billie Mae Burns, 73, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Lutheran Living.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Billie was born on November 20, 1951, in Muscatine, the daughter of Weldon ‘Wally’ and Margaret ‘Maggie’ Curry Shoppa. She married Daniel Burns on March 6, 1970, in Muscatine.
Billie was a 1970 graduate of Muscatine High School. She did bookkeeping for Flowers on the Avenue.
Billie was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Neil Diamond, Elvis, and Sonny and Cher. She enjoyed going to spring training baseball in Florida with her husband for their anniversary. Most importantly, she loved her grandkids.
Billie is survived by her husband, Daniel; children, Daniel Craig Burns (Julia) of Macomb, Illinois, Nicholas Burns (Missy) of Muscatine, and Mandy Smillie (Pete) of Muscatine; grandchildren, Collin Burns, Clayton Boldt, Lee Burns, Alyssa Burns, Aly Burns, Emma Boldt, El Burns, Christopher Burns, and Frankie Smillie; and one great grandson on the way in July.
She is preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Mary Burns; and son-in-law, Paul Boldt.
