Orville passed away yesterday, Chris. He had Alzheimer's, and was 81. I had a lot of fun in his musicals.

If Eddie Money has Two Tickets to Paradise, why should he even want you to pack your bags?
Shouldn't Paradise have all the crap you need?

Okay, ya'll are making me blush. I just started crying when I read some of your responses. It's been so long since I have seen you, but you are in my heart and my prayers. Ya'll come out and see me in Albuquerque. I'll show you a good time.

Cathy McGill

Oh yes, and I'd be honored to sing at the next reunion. Me and my band will come down and have a great time. It is a little bittersweet coming home to Muskogee now that my Mom is gone, but my wonderful brother and his family are there. My Uncle Curtis is also still there.

Blessings to all of you.

And Dwayne, thanks for posting the video of Cathy.

Cathy... girl, you have one big beautiful voice!

Leslie, once again, thanx for this site......... I enjoy "listening" to ya'll talk!

10/11/09 11:17 PM #3361

Lynda Hambrick

Okay, Terry, I have an answer....... The Youngbloods.... and the title of the song is "Get Together". (right Dwayne?)

10/12/09 08:19 AM #3362

Dwayne Smither

Correct. It was a "One Hit Wonder" by the Youngbloods. The song was written by Dino Valenti and originally recorded by Jefferson Airplane. The Youngbloods recorded the song and it became a top 10 hit for the band in 1969. The band released two or three other songs after that and they were all flops. The band broke up in 1971.

Song of the Day

Sometimes cover songs become the recognized hit over the original. Blinded by the Light, we know the song by Mannford Mann's Earth Band but did you know that the song was written by Bruce Springsteen and was recorded by Bruce two years before Manford Mann released it? Here are both versions.
