I have a little ole timeshare in Checotah...which I often share with an octogenarian grandmother and about 109 cats...

All I need is a beret, a parrot, and a lion-headed cane to be one of those old eccentics living out in the country ('farmville,' indeed!)...

Chris, congrats on the dinky-links ribbon (is it, in fact, a ribbon, a medal?). I'm sure Benjie's kids appreciated the donation. You're such a mensch (a good, REAL person!)...

I've always liked the name Badfinger.  I've been known to use it once or twice.

Kathryn Ritchey (Nightingale)

Hi!  Tresa, I haven't forgotten YET~~~~

I would like to attend the May 8th party.  I am planning cornbread salad.  YUM-YUM.

HOWDY YA'LL!!!!  I DON'T KNOW WHERE I HAVE BEEN FOR SO LONG!!!

Joanie, I went to a casino for the first time in my life.  My mom, husband, daughter, and I went into the WINSTAR WORLD CASINO at Thackerville, OK.  Of course, I lost, but I was entertained.  My daughter won $35 on a penny machine after inserting $2.  She also won an additional $9.  She is so lucky.   And, How many more days until retirement????  I heard through Gary Knight that your husband was already retired.

LOOK OUT EVERYONE, I am planning to be at the May 8th party.

Anybody going anywhere this summer?  Since I'm not, I thought I'd try to live vicariously through others!

04/25/10 01:11 AM #3801

Alan Yeakley

Julie, here's my offering with whatever vicarious potential it might have.

We'll be in Argentina.  It's my mother-in-law's 80th birthday.  We're still considering exactly what we'll do, but will probably spend a day or more at an estancia (these operate like dude ranches, with some horse riding and horse shows, and then a folklore musical show and an asado) with her.

The rest of the time we'll be in Buenos Aires, and by going in the winter (there) it's right in the middle of theater season.  Seeing major plays like Fiddler on the Roof in Spanish is a bit of a trip ...

Joanie Brown (Edwards)

Kathy, 377 working days until retirement, counting today.  And I'm really looking forward to being able to sleep in instead of sneaking out of the bed at 6:30 while 'someone' is snoring away!  Of course, I'll be broke and won't have any $$ to do a single thing but lazy doesn't cost much!!

So glad there's a party planned.  I'll probably miss this one since my son gets his 2 week home pass starting this Saturday.  He's been gone 10 months and he's really excited to have this break.  We'll be fishing and visiting family for that two weeks.  But you all have a great time and think of me!

I learned on Rick Steves' yesterday (NPR radio show) that pretzels originate in Bavaria.

I haven't spent any time in Bavaria, but it sounds pretty ideal, with all the biergartens, mountainous scenery, etc.  I may have to put it on the bucket list.

(Are we old enough to have bucket lists, or am I getting ahead of myself?)

I really miss those great funk bands of the 70's. The GAP Band were originally from Tulsa.  In 1967 they formed the band and named it Greenwood, Archer and Pine after three streets in North Tulsa.  The name proved to be too long and it was later shortened to The GAP Band.  There you have it!  More worthless music trivia.

Is the party of the spring still on for next weekend?  Sheila and I plan on coming to the main event.

05/01/10 05:55 PM #3807

I do believe the party is still on.

I'm going to the banner auction in the park.  I can come by afterwards though.

Dinky Links will be ready for the grill, along with some homemade BBQ sauce.  I can drop them off at Debbie's on the way to the park.

Sounds good CJ, I'll be home. Party is on and long deserved. School is over for now. Might start a masters program in August. Everyone can meet my grandchild. They should be here too!
