I love tatting (a form of lace making),I'm a member of the LaceMakers Guild of Oklahoma where I am constantly being exposed to other kinds of lace (I'd like to learn them all!) I've been privileged to teach at the Finger Lakes Tatting Seminar in New York. I have a tatting blog, http://tattingtreasures.blogspot.com/
I also enjoy sewing, and almost always have a book around that I am reading.
One of my biggest challenges is my health. Although I have never smoked...I'm on oxygen 24/7 (repeated pneumonia has damaged my lungs + I have a idiopathic sleeping disorder with episodes similar to narcolepsy.) I have fibromyalgia and chronic migraines, often up to five days a week. (Psalm 73:26-"My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."NKJ) Working my schedule, and our family's schedule around my good days is often difficult.
I spent many years as volunteer staff at Child Evangelism Fellowship in Tulsa. I have been an Instructor of Teachers for their IOT1 classes and in their Traditional Training Classes. I was a Good News Club Coordinator for them. For close to 30 years, I was the Head Teacher for Camp Good News. I was also Instructor of the 3rd Level Students for their Christian Youth in Action program for 20+ years.
I love teaching children and am a packrat when it comes to old flannelgraph Bible lessons--I have several filing cabinets full (and would like more).
My husband, Earl and I have been married over 40 years. Both of our sons live on the family farm in Okay. Calen, my oldest son works for Muskogee Public Schools as a Computer Tech. Our youngest son, Travis works from home as a customer service rep for an insurance company. My husband retired from teaching inβ22 (32 years at Hilldale High school and 8 years at Muskogee High school. He did not retire from his other occupations-he is a preacher (Braggs First Baptist-25+years) and he runs the family farm near Okay.
Just waiting to see what God has for us next in His plans. Life is always exciting !!
