Okay here are some terrible Dallas Cowboys jokes I was sent yesterday.
Love the 'boys, but they did let us down this year.

The Texas State Police are cracking down on speeders heading into Dallas. For the first offense, they give you 2 Dallas Cowboy tickets. If you get stopped a second time, they make you use them.

Q.
What do you call 47 millionaires around a TV watching the Super Bowl?

A.
The Dallas Cowboys

Q.
What do the Dallas Cowboys and Billy Graham have in common?

A. They both can make 70,000 people stand up and yell "Jesus Christ".

Q.
How do you keep a Dallas Cowboy out of your yard?

A. Put up a goal post.

Q.
What do you call a Dallas Cowboy with a Super Bowl ring?

A. A thief.

Q.
What's the difference between the Dallas Cowboys and a dollar bill?

A. You can still get four quarters out of a dollar bill.

Q.
How many Dallas Cowboys does it take to win a Super Bowl?

A.
Nobody remembers and we will never find out!

Q.
What do the Cowboys and a possums have in common?

A.
Both play dead at home and get killed on the road!

Sad news to relate.

I got these from Nena today:

Jan,

I just found out about an hour ago when my mom received a phone call that Charles Parrish was killed yesterday afternoon in a tractor accident. Mrs. Whitley told mom that apparently the tractor hit a culvert we think and Charles was thrown from the tractor and ran over. Cochran Funeral home in Livingston is handling the arrangements. Their phone number is 936-327-2158. The funeral service is 3:00 Sunday afternoon at First United Methodist Church in Livingston. Visitation - am not sure but the funeral home will know later on this afternoon. Will be sure and let you know. They tentatively think it will be on Fri. or Sat.

I knew you would want to know. Please let our 1974 class know so they can be praying for Charles' family. Am so upset for the family- we have known them forever.

Thank you for doing this for me. I appreciate it. Will let you know more when I find out.

Nena

Jan,

I just found out that the visitation will be on Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00 at Cochran Funeral home in Livingston. The funeral is at 3:00 at First UMC in Livingston on Sunday.

I know that I will be going down on Saturday and Sunday as will my family. Let me know if you need more info. I wanted to let you know so that you can let the class know on our website.

Thanks,

Nena

Nina, Thanks for letting us know about Charles. I can relate to what Gary said. Charles was one of the "Good Guys". He was a buddy in high school. Like alot of other classmates, we drifted apart over the years. He was always willing to help out, no-matter which side of the tracks you lived. Another Golden Dragon, that will always be remembered.

Happy Birthday Monday to Mandy, Anne, and Phyllis.
And on Tuesday to Steve,Cynthia, and Don.
Does anyone have a good email address for Mandy?
She got married and moved to Virginia, I think, and I've lost touch with her since.

From Karen Cloudy Benton:

Nena Smith, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Whitley (retired librarian at Raguet), and I went to Livingston for Charles' funeral today. It was a lovely service & his beautiful 11 y.o. dtr., Destiny, sang. Patricia's hsb., Ricky Ricks, pastor at First Methodist in Henderson, did the eulogy & it was so touching. Nena & I will share stories later. Charles would be so proud & Fernando looked handsome in his suit as a pallbearer. Wayne Lazarine & Cindy Holt's brother, Danny, were also pallbearers. I am going to sub for Katherine Parrish Whitbeck tomorrow at NHS so she can be w/ the family tomorrow. Again, I cannot tell you how beautiful Destiny is. She is one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen & what a voice.

Cris (Palafox)

Actually from Nick:

I hope all is well with you and yours and may God bless each of you in a way that will touch your life with the assurance that He is with you.

Now, as to the "spring fling" we are going to partae!!!! I'll be throwing road kill on the smoker early on April 18th and served with all the trimmings later in the afternoon. Anyone wanting to show up at 4:00 a.m. feel free to join me with a bloody mary in hand and make enough noise that the neighbors will call the cops on us. Actually, the neighbors won't call 'cause they already know me - which is good and bad, but I really don't care. I'm hoping that enough of you will show up so that later on in the evening we can have a Texas Hold Em game with the money going toward the NHS Alumni Association. It'll be fun! Trust me.

As to the "Winter Casino Weekend" Cris and I haven't heard what date is planned. Whoever is coordinating that please let us know. Lester Hancock and I look forward to not letting the old ladies have any money so that we can gamble it all away - right Lester?

Hey Nick!
Thanks for posting about the partae! Can't wait.

Shawn says she will begin checking and planning for Winter Casino Weekend on Monday, so we should have some plans posted and emailed next week!

Hey Y'all,

Check out the song "Love Will Come Back" by Chicago in the jukebox on the Home Page.

Cal and I saw them in concert and they sang this song off of Chicago 30 and I thought it was just beautiful.

After reading the album notes I discovered that Rascal Flatts produced the album and it's them singing with Chicago on the album version of the song.

I think that is so cool--a group from 'our day' still cranking out hits and touring, now partnering with one of the hottest groups of today.

Hello Everyone! This website is such fun. Jan and Cal are the best. The problem for me is I can't figure out how to do everything. I am also so excited about having part of the reunion here at our little cafe. I will try to make it a great time for all. Plus, I appreciate my classmates supporting our little endeavor, it means a great deal to me. Thanks!

Now about the Winter Casino Night. First, we want everyone to try to make it. We had a really fun time in November. I am trying to see if February 21 would work for everyone. Please email me and let me know. I have already gotten some feedback and so far so good. Please mark your calendar and come. Okay, let me know if that date works for you. Last time we decided it was best for everyone just to make their own reservations. We also played mostly at Eldorado and Sams Town because they were together. Let me know if that works or would we rather try something new. Next week I will let you know how it is going. \

One other thing, important. If you know anyone that is not tuning in here yet, doesn't have a computer, etc. please call and let them know so we can include as many as possible.

Later
Shawn
