Larry Hamilton

Just saw the notice about the death of Buddy Cade. I was on the track team with Buddy when I was a junior. What a gifted athelete he was. Without a doubt the tallest sprinter I ever saw, and fast as hell!  He was also great at the broad jump.  I never really got to know him that well, but he always seemed to have a bemused smile on his face.  I heard from others that he was a pretty tough kid in his early years, but he was always kind and gracious in working with me on the basic mechanics of our sport (we didn't have much of a track coach). When Bruce E.  was down here for a visit, Buddy's name came up.  I'd noticed, in the yearbook, that Buddy was a part of that 1963 championship football team.  I wondered why in the world, with his size, speed, and jumping ability,  he wasn't  used as a receiver. A few weeks later, I found myself sitting across from his sister Shari, at a christmas dinner, and she said that he was in Arizona and that she would say hi for me.  So sad for his family.

Just bought a new roadster.  Thinking of driving from Napa to Vermont (the state not the street) again.  I did that a couple of years ago.  Planning to leave in mid October. Somebody please talk some sence into me!

Pat: I probably will!  I've got a bunch of nieces and nephews in Vermont that anticipate my arrival every year, for a ride in whatever car I bring ha ha.

Bob: Thanks!

Jerry: Will do! I've been through CT several times in the past 4 years.

Ken: it's a BMW Z4, 4 banger with turbo, 240 bhp, 0-60 somewhere around 5.7 sec.  Drove it to Calistoga the other day and got 37 mpg! Rowdy exhaust too. I'm pleased! ha ha.

Awesome vehicle. Good for you. Should be a great trip. Kind of a German version of Route 66.

So Larry, who's the car babe in the photo?  A little young perhaps?  I believe even Vermont even has laws protecting juveniles.  And none of this "it's my Granddaughter" nonsense.

Bruce, I had just asked her "how big do you think Bruce's head is?" You should be nice to me. I could go public about your robe 😳

Hubba hubba.  I'll always remember coming home after school to watch Mickey Mouse Club & hoping I'd see Annette.  Us guys were so young that we knew we really liked her --- but we didn't know why.......

You two looked good in high school together and nothing has changed.

Bob: Thanks! I wish.

Ken: you flatter me.

Bruce: I think we were in third grade when we discovered her.  I have a dim memory of requesting her as a babysitter.

Actually the picture of you and Annette in front of the door looks great. You haven't changed that much.

Ken: It's the ears.......

Larry:  All your memories are dim ----- faux memories???

I always wondered what you guys whispered, in the Napa High hallway, as I approached.

Ken: Oh yeah?

Bruce:  only one memory is emblazened on my mind...it concerns a certain care-worn garment. eeeooooo!
