I knew Bill from a shorthand class in our Senior year in which we were the only guys enrolled. He took it because he wanted to go into journalism. I don't know if he pursued that as a career, but I remember him as soft spoken, an attentive listener, and very determined; all good qualities in a journalist. I'm sorry he will not be with us for the reunion.
Bill and I met when we started 7th grade at Silverado. Bill was the kindest of boys. Always had a smile and a kind word. Sorry to see that Bill has passed. There is no doubt Bill is on a high cloud in Heaven.
Bill was one of my best friends in junior and senior years. We were in Mr. Conant's journalism class together and would spend our hour of class off grounds either selling ads for the school paper (usually at Chic's having a coke) or making up our articles for the paper (peeking in parked cars and writing what we found as the "car snoops"). Our partner was Pat Francis. I lost track of Bill after high school and wondered if he had made journalism his career. Such a nice guy.
