I rememberJoyce from elementary school. I think she lived on Green Island Rd. I think I remember her pinky finger was half gone. You remember things like that when you're a kid. I also remember she was a sweet girl. I'm sad to hear of her passing.
I remember Joyce very well from our time at Ridgeview. We shared at least a couple of classes and my name was always called right after hers during roll calls. She was a nice girl with a good sense of humor and I always enjoyed talking with her. I'm extremely sorry that she's gone.
I didn't know Joyce from Napa High, but I knew her as Bunny Jack very well because I hired her as our administrative assistant at Genentech. She helped our "vaccine development" research team led by me and later by Jack Obijeski. We worked on the DNA encoding such important viruses as Influenza, Rabies, Hepatitis B, HIV, and for animals Hoof and Mouth disease. She made our group function well, doing all kinds of paperwork, research paper edits, collaborations, travel, meetings, all that kind stuff. She met another scientist at Genentech (Chuck H.), and they enjoyed each others company for many years. I met her sister-in-law at the last reunion and we traded stories. She was a nice friend, a dependable and helpful co-worker. I'm so sorry to hear that she is gone.

Sad to hear of Joyce's passing. She was one of my friends. We got along very well and she was always fun to be with. Great sense of humor.
