
Colleen Kendall Elia

Colleen B. Elia passed away at her home on July 18, 2016 after a long battle with cancer and the after-affects. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Colleen was born and raised in Napa, CA. She graduated from Napa High School in 1964, where her favorite course of study was journalism. She traveled to many different states throughout her life and loved being outdoors. Her passions were painting, sewing, cooking, reading, and traveling in her trailer to different places with her husband. Colleen was an avid animal lover and took great joy in traveling with her dogs, Camile and Lucky. She took great joy in cooking for her family, and everyone in the neighborhood. Colleen had a tender heart and loved being a mother. She was known as the neighborhood mom and took in anyone who needed help, or just wanted a mother’s love. She was known as “Mom” to many.
Colleen went into business for herself and ran Colleen B. Elia’s Tax Preparation and Bookkeeping Services for over 20 years. She also enjoyed being a traveling Notary and made midnight calls to help out her customers.
She was a special woman, wife, mother and friend. She will be missed by a very large number of people.
Colleen was married to Dominic (Nick) Elia for almost 42 years and together they raised 4 children, two boys, and two girls. She is survived by her husband, Dominic (Nick) Elia; her son, Bart Elia ( Portland, OR); daughter, Darcey (Hicks) Jezycki (Napa, CA); step-son Paul Elia (Daleville, AL); step daughter, Darlene Elia (Napa, CA); 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Very few marriages,have their origin , dating back to our school days. I went to school with Nick and Colleen at Ridgeview as well as Napa High. Both had great personalities and a ready smile. My condolences to Nick.

So very sorry to hear about Colleen. We were good friends at Ridgeview . I spent the day with her and her family in SanFrancico. It was an exciting and fun day for me. I remember her family as being full of fun.

So sad to hear that Colleen has passed. I remember her as a very sweet girl. She always had a smile on her face. We had a few classes togehter at Ridgeview and would walk to and from classes together. It seems our class has suffered the loss of it's share of our childhood friends this last year or so, each one holds a special memory.
