Weekly Calistogan, The (CA) - Thursday, February 10, 2005
VALLEJO - Dennis Tucker died Feb. 2, 2005, at the age of 58, after battling a
long illness. He was born Oct. 24, 1946, at Parks Victory Hospital in Napa, to
Dewitt and Gyla Rhea Tucker.
Dennis attended Mt. George and Westwood elementary schools, Ridgeview
Junior High and Napa High, graduating in 1964.
In 1967 he married Linda Moore. Together they had four wonderful children,
Brian, Shawna, Kevin and Chelsea.
Dennis worked at the Veterans Hospital in Yountville, at Kaiser Steel and at
Charles Krug Winery as a cellar operator for 24 years, from which he retired in
1998.
Dennis had many hobbies throughout his life. He loved sailing in the San
Francisco Bay, hiking and camping in Yosemite with his family. He also enjoyed
making stained glass art, and was an accomplished photographer. His all-time
favorite hobby was making homemade beer and wine. He won first place in the
home winemakers classic for his 2001 Pinot Noir. He also loved sharing his
knowledge of winemaking with his friends in their winemaking endeavors.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1958, Dennis took every opportunity to
talk to others about God's purpose for mankind and the Earth. His faith helped
him to be strong in coping with his illness.
He loved having his children around him to joke with, tell stories and to recall
good times. He had many close friendships with both young and old, all of
whom he dearly loved.
Dennis is survived by his wife Linda, son Brian and wife Kristen, son Kevin,
daughter Shawna Bush and husband Alex, and daughter Chelsea. He also is
survived by his four grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Alexandria Tucker, Ravin and
Jackson Bush.
Dennis was loved and will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall
of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1976 Wise Dr., Napa.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Watchtower, 25 Columbia
Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201.

Dennis went to Ridgeview and was a religous guy who kept somewhat to himself.  If my memory serves me right he and a friend tragically drowned in a lake at the South end of Foster Road.  RIP Dennis.

Dennis died of kidney failure about 2005 or 06. He had a kidney transplant and it lasted several years but eventually failed. I saw Dennis and his wife Linda once or twice a year for many years. We were close friends after high school and even shared an apartment in Sparks, Nevada and worked at Harrah's club. We had a lot of contact thru the 70's. Dennis was a real charachter and being a Jehovah's Witness did not hinder his personality. At his memorial service one of the church elders talked to me about what a charachter Dennis was.

I am sorry to hear of Dennis Tuckers death,  Yes he was a character.  I also shared time with Dennis and Paul in Sparks, Nevada while working at Harrahs.  It is a memory I think of often.  It's too bad we didn't stay in contact. We all seemed to go our own ways.

I too miss Dennis.  His Mom was also a character!  I saw his wife, Linda, last summer in Sac. at one of our Jehovah's Witness conventions.  I was just adding pics. to my Napa Friends album on FB and have a pic. of Dennis right here in front of me, wearing his sunglasses when I saw this email.  I hope to see Dennis again when he is brought back to life in a resurrection here on earth.
