Bernie was a good buddy.  Funny, smart, and a great baseball player.  Scared the ....t out of me after school in the 10th grade taking the overpass near Ridgeview at around 80-100 mph in his mom's '54 Buick.  I had just been in a major car wreck the week before...  I'll never forget his wit and grin.  RIP, my friend.

Bernie was a great guy.  I don't know what caused his passing, but he will indeed be missed.

I worked with his sister for many years at the phone company and she told me he had Diabetes.

Bernie was a very social guy who sponsored after school make out parties.  To say the least, I learned a lot from Bernie.  Always had a smile and a plan for something to do.  I looked up to him and very sorry he is gone.

Bern was one of a kind -- in a good way to my way of thinking.  A funny, funny fellow who could pitch a little.  I'm truly sorry he's gone.

I might add that I visited Bernie and Barbara in 1981 when they lived near Seattle and I was stationed at Fort Lewis.  Bernie was the same funny guy and it was a pleasure to spend time with him.  He had a Bayliner that served the family well.  Salmon fishing was his passion.  I believe he worked as a union dispatcher then.  Here is a great photo of him in front of his Nash Metro; taken while we were still in high school.  We'd just returned from a fishing trip to one of the ponds with a stringer of bluegil.  His mom's old '54 Buick is in front.

What a great guy and soooo funny.  I never saw him critisize anyone or be mean to anyone...a rarity in high school. The kind of guy you hope you run into at a reunion.

I went to elementary school with his wife Barbara, a very beautiful and sensible girl...the two complimented each other.

Bernie was probably the funniest person I have ever known. Always making people laugh. I played softball with Bernie and he was very good. Most of his classmates may not have known this but Bernie was in the Napa High Choir and had a really good voice but was in trouble with Mr. Hildebrand most of the time because he was always making everybody laugh. Sorry to hear he  has passed but with such a great personality, he will never be forgotten.
