That's supposed to read "series of messages" not "serious of messages".

how about SERIES OF MASSAGES ?????

I can't help myself....I have been out of control for quite some time now.

John Richard told one of my friends he thought I would have learned better by now....I was only trying to shoplift from our museum store......I was going to bring it back....gorgeous bracelet...$128.00 Freddie

John Harry Robson, D. Min.

Freddie: you are so full of malarkey. You don't shock anyone anymore. You need to wear a habit and pay for your insatiable curiousity. Don Smith told me to tell you he will get you as soon as you cross the threshold of the Gates. Anyway, how are you? john

Billy....I hope you get the e-mail...it is classmates.com, I think....$9.95 a month, 75% off this month..quite a few names I recognize....I have been getting e-mails from those people for years. Each time I think I have deleted them, they pop right up again.

John Robson..I am fine, and you???? Donald Smith is waiting on me with open arms...and we will live happily ever after...as soon as I cross the Rainbow Bridge I will be home......You have to be an animal lover to know the Rainbow Bridge. Do not go there if you are not prepared.

O.K.......Go Devils...

:) "massages", "massages", reminds me of the Cloud Nine Studio on I-30 west of Ft. Worth. :)

Years ago, I was doing an investigation and had occasion to call this place, I thought it was a photography studio, I know, I know, the name should have given it away. Anyway, went over to it to interview a lady, didn't realize until I walked in the door what it was. I'm not sure who was the more nervous, me, or those ladies with a federal investigator standing inside. :)

Arranged for another investigator, a local, with vice experience to go back in to try and determine if the subject of my investigation was shall we say "working". He spent some money there but never did make a case. :)

Hi.....checking in....The Old State Capitol is decked out and looking good. We have had Christmas parties in various offices of the Secretary of State and have bonded and bonded.....I have seen some of the weirdest food layed out for the people to eat. Strange...where do these people get these recipes??? We have had some beautiful and delightful morsels, thank goodness. Good ole gumbo, fudge, fried turkey, salads, and sugar and sugar...Lots of travelers over the holidays. Lots of relatives who have never seen the OSC, so lots of people to enjoy the beauty and the Christmas decorations. Our tree is huge with huge ornaments and our posts are wrapped with greenery and real fruit and the fragrance is delicious. Red poinsettias are everywhere and add such color to an already colorful OSC. And, the Christmas Spirit is over all......And I wish all of you the Christmas Spirit...and the Happiest of all New Years'

Well, I'm late reading your post but hope you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year tonight, and the year to come. I'm sitting here listening to some heavy duty fireworks, sure am glad the woods and ground are wet, don't believe there is any danger of fire. After awakening a week ago to see a fire out our bedroom window in the woods, an unsettling sight to say the least. Our nearest neighbor's house, 300 yards through the woods burned.

Wish we had made a run down there to see all the decorations you've described, maybe next year.

Later,

Bill & Polly

Hmmm, the website sent out an automated message to update, still have things to learn about it, just haven't had time while trying to find our schoolmates. We have to run up to Shreveport Sunday so a doc can cut on me Monday morning at LSU Medical Center. Been putting it off for 16 years and just decided it's time. Have a pocket in my throat that needs to be stitched up so food doesn't get caught in it. Marty Book Thomasee had the same thing and has recommended this doc so I'm going to do it. Other than that, and aches in the joints, unwanted weight gain, hair turning gray, hearing and eyes going downhill, memory can't remember, bank account not growing, everything is great. :)

Billy, do I have all those awful medical problems to look forward to??? I will know I am growing old when the symptoms you mentioned set in.

I just looked up and Anna Bernard and Ed Hearron were walking in. What a great moment!!! There is nothing to compare with thrill of seeing someone I have known forever, and knowing the love and devotion we have shared for years will always be right there to pick up where we left off. How is it possible for us to not skip a beat, and 50 years falls away quick as a blink.
We spent a few good minutes catching up, then Ed had to get back to Shreveport. Anna is as precious as ever. I guess I had better say Ed is as precious as ever. Ed is Ed......I think he is taller than he used to be.

God has blessed us.

Sounds like a great surprise, Freddie! We're back home, they didn't have to cut my throat as anticipated, were able to do it endoscopically(?) through the mouth. Throat is still sore but no pain to speak of. I think we are at that age where things do start going awry. I'm reminded of a cartoon of two Border Patrol Agents meeting at a reunion after years of not seeing each other. Of course, they are both heavy around the middle, bald, etc., but the "thought" caption above their heads shows them remembering each other as they were years earlier and the caption reading "you haven't changed a bit".

Judy Bob, glad you are not as decrepid(?) as we are! :) I'm only up to two pills, or is it three, :) , now go take those ten pills before you forget. :)

:( Some folks just don't want to be found, you call, it's either disconnected or no answer. You go by the address you have in Bossier City, they are not known there, or there are cars in the drive, near Campti, but no answer to your knock. Hmmmmm, I'm persistent, I'll find you. :)

Bill, happy to hear your medical procedure went well. Never knew that you had an extra pocket in which you kept food. No wonder you didn't have to suffer through the NHS cafeteria "experiences".

Spending most of my time painting, planting sod, etc. in preparing our home for sale here in San Antonio, with the anticiaption of moving back to Lake Charles.

Happy New Year to all.

Hi Raymond,

Hope y'all can get a quick sell on your house, sounds like you are really working on the "curb appeal". I think we'll just die here and let the kids have to go through all of that. :)

My throat problem only developed about 18 years ago so I too had to suffer through the "cafeteria" food. I was always a "picky" eater, bad habit, guess that's why I was always so skinny. I'm now enjoying a greater variety of food, no sushi please, and it's the wrong time of life to do that.

When y'all get back to Lake Charles maybe there will be time for us to do that cemetery roaming we talked about including Sander's Chapel at Calvin. Also, just learned yesterday that Ronald Dee Canerday is the Chief of Police for Calvin and has been for 15 years. He'll probably nail me for "speeding" next time I'm up there. :)

Later,
Bill

Thank you, Bill, Glenelle and the rest for being willing to give your time and talents to plan our 50th reunion. Quite an undertaking for something a mere four months away. Now --- the rest of us need to mark our calendars for May 28-29, start our diets, schedule botox, etc. so when we gather in Natchitoches, we can pretend we're 40ish and not 60ish :) I look forward to sharing memories about "the way we were" -- and "the way we've been since 1960"! Rosalie (aka Lee Lee)

The Way We Were
(Barbara Streisand)

Memories light the corner of my mind.
Misty water color memories
Of the way we were.

Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind,
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were.

Can it be that it was all so simple then,
Or has time rewritten every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again,
Tell me? would we? could we?

Memories may be beautiful and yet,
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget.
So it's the laughter
We will remember,
Whenever we remember
The way we were.

Hi to all...
...perfect song, Rosalie! Thanks for posting the words for all of us.
Thanks, too, to all who met and started the wheels moving forward on our reunion. Aren't we going to have a great time catching up and remembering? Personally, I'm really enjoying this web site and the messages that are going back and forth....and for this, we thank you, Billy.
Anna

Hey right back, Judy Bob & Anna! I agree that the message forum is neat; it's getting classmates back in touch and increasing our anticipation of becoming reacquainted at the reunion. Chime in more of you Red Devils!!!

Folks, this is just really not fair to all of you. We are having a ball locating, contacting and visiting with each of our classmates. We have made contact within this past week with Jimmy Wayne Gallien in Waco, TX, Elwanda Miller McCabe in Cottonwood Falls, KS, Raymond Carpenter and his wife, Rita Rond (NHS Class of '62)in Natchitoches. Raymond is putting me in contact with Audrey Rond Oxley in Sulphur/Coldwater/Toledo Bend, Billy Carpenter in Evelyn, LA and Shirley Carpenter Brown in Longview, TX in a couple of days. Throw me in that briar patch, if you know where any of our missing classmates are, let me know so I can visit with them.

Raymond and Rita just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last month. Audrey Rond and her husband, Dan Oxley, celebrated their 50th last year, I'm not sure of the month, and of course, Gail Straughan and Ray Barbo have already celebrated their 50th and I believe off the top of my head are heading for their 52nd. Can't think of anyone else right now with 50 but a number of us are approaching it within the next couple of years.

Polly says it doesn't hurt to acknowledge the number of years we've been married but it sure is hard to realize we've been out of high school for 50 years.

Hello classmates from 1st -8th grades. I am so looking forward to seeing each one of you and catching up on what has been going on in these last 54 years. I would like to know if any of you have any memorable from those years. I hope that you can share some memories from those years that we were classmates. I remember all the races that we did and it seems that the boys couldn't beat the girls and vice a verse. Who was that? I have a autograph book that some of you wrote some cazy things in also. I guess I kept it to remember you all that were a part of my life.
I have a letter from a penpal that I kept and have been able to locate her in England after all these years. That was exciting and have talked to her by phone. Zelda, Elizabeth and Janet also wrote to penpals.Do you remember them?
Looking forward to our reunion. Elwanda

Ed said I hadn't changed a bit.....I take that to mean I am cute and sweet, can still fit in my maroon cheerleading ensemble, my hair is real brown, my teeth are real white, I never get tired of jumping around, and jumping around does not cause me pain. I still weigh 87 pounds and I am still 5 feet tall....

Billy D., I don't know if you have done us any favors or sent us to purgatory...you know the devil made cell phones and he is lurking and watching us...Anyway, this is the best idea ever. To get us together, and let us relive the good old days is nothing short of glorious.

Rosalie writing the song put all the pieces together, and wrapped the memories in our thoughts. I wish I could sing...I can change the subject!!!

Gotta go.....this place is getting on my last nerve***

I love you all, just because I don't see you doesn't mean I don't love you......Because I do love you<><><><><>***** those are hugs and kisses....

How many were in the graduating class of 1960? What did you all do at the last reunion?

There are 98 photos in our Senior Class in the 1960 Chinquapin, however, a transcript showing class ranking reflects we had 96 in our class.
