I was a party girl and moved out and had a good time early on. I had to do things on my own in order to learn them. I had Kevin when I was 22 and needed a "miracle" to get me out of the party life that I was leading. It was a good thing that I had him because, if I had not, I probably would not be alive today.
I later had Tyler and was a single mom, and worked at the Newton County 911 center. I really enjoyed helping people by answering their calls. That is where I met my ex. We dated for about a year and got married just before my daughter, Macy was born. We had two kids together and he treated my other kids almost like his own.
I now work at Jasper County Emergency Services and have been there since 1998. I had to go to part-time when my Mom developed breast cancer and could not watch our kids for us. I work part-time. I also work as a "lunch lady" at the Joplin High School. It is a 3 hr position and I really enjoy visiting with the kids at school everyday. The reason I work 2 part-time jobs is so that I can be at home when my kids are home. I am currently working on a training program for medical transcription.
I am involved in the Relay For Life only not as much as I have been in the past. Life has gotten extremely rough right now and cannot devote myself to much more.
Which brings me to now...I am recently divorced. We still live in the same house due to the fact that he lost his job and I do not work full-time yet. This is hard at times, but, we are making it thru. I am keeping my chin up these days and have recently started re-thinking life. I try to spend as much time as possible playing with my kids and studying.
That is pretty much all (well, there is a ton more, but, that is probably for another day).
