Wow - chicken wire at the hockey arena - that's a long time ago - but then again - I am sure our kids will be saying the same things about something we have done.

Mary - My daughter is going to be Raggedy Ann for Halloween. I will post a picture of her.

Mary, cute pics! I want your dog. He looks like a blast! We have yet a 5th chihuahua, another rescue that Vaughn has fallen in love with and she him, I can't be a foster anymore, I keep them all...

thanks Heidi. Our dog is pretty fun. sometimes too crazy, but ya gotta expect that. she's just over a year old. gosh i can't imagine 5 little dogs at once! ha! yeah fostering must be so hard! i know a family who fosters Visla's (sp??) and she said it's so hard, you get so attached. but you don't have to let the dog go with just anyone right? you interview them or whatever and you have the final word. is that how it works with you?

WOW!!! I haven't been to this site since July. It's changed quite a bit. I feel like a schmuck for waiting so long.
Glad to see that Jeff's ramblings have reached the masses. I've been blessed with these for years.
One thing has been on my mind for a long time. Was it true that people jumped from the second floor onto mattresses at Carl's parties in the Castle? I went to a few but never witnessed. Urban Legend?

Yes, Mary, we do inspect the owners and their homes, we are pretty strict as most of our chi's have come from something very traumatic to begin with :(

Jennifer,

Love "There is a light that never goes out". There is a live version of the song that was performed by Morrrisey (after leaving the Smiths) that was done as an encore for a show that was taped for TV. It is also on you-tube. I would attach it if I knew how. He is wearing a Red shirt in the video. Probably one of the best encores ever.

Joey, pretty much everything is on youtube. I've been amazed at some of the completely obscure things I've found on there. The video of Morrissey was really good. I remember buying the Smith's Meat is Murder album on import from an ad in the back of a Teen Beat magazine after hearing them on Night Tracks (anybody remember that show?). I used to buy so much stuff on import.

How the heck did balcony jumping come in to the conversation? hysterical.
Welcome back MT.

Joe you really should post some of the memoirs from 20 years back.

Go Lions!

It's time for the song of the day again. Today's song is by INXS. It's off their 1982 album Shabooh Shoobah, "The One Thing":

I can't believe this song came out when I was twelve.

Carl,
Not sure why balcony jumping came to mind. My brain short circuits from time to time. I just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Here's another strange thing I remember:
Mike Thompson taught me to make nachos in the microwave.

Thank You Mary!
It's so true!

I keep getting better and better. I was looking in the mirror 5 minutes ago and I can hardly keep my hands off myself!

And I'm SO EXCITED!!! Sandy Drummond, Erik's sister, my BFF! is on a plane right now to Phoenix to be here for my wedding Friday! I pick her up in an hour!

I'm not going to think about the economy, election, stock market, or gas prices until Monday, F-it!

Michael Thompson

Yes, but you stopped eating them.....I however, over indulged! I always was cutting edge with technology.

Here's a funny memory involving Mr. Theut......spring break, maybe our junior year, I was grounded. I convinced my mom to let me go to the Theut house, where they happened to hosting a party, but only for 2 hours.
I drank for about an hour and 55 minutes. Upon returning home, I fell over into the living room closet. I think maybe I was grounded through the summer.

I don't recall anyone diving off the second story at Carl's house. Then again, there are many things I don't recall from Carl's parties. Carl, what was the name of your crazy dog?

10/07/08 12:01 PM #289

Lisa Miller (Shedlock)

I forgot about Carl's dog! Didn't you lock it up in the dungeon when you had parties? I never saw it, but it sounded vicious!

The two Mike's nacho story reminded me of a funny memory I have with Heather... Remember when we made fortune cookies for our class in 3rd grade?...we put fortunes inside that read stuff like "you will marry Wonder Woman".

The legend of the Pesta Plunge or Lakeview Leap, is indeed true. Carl and I use to pull some Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka type sh*! off that balcony. Crazy kids.
Carl's beast of a dog was Rambo. If I recall correctly that dog hated Kristen W. or maybe it hated me and loved Kristen. I don't know... It hated someone though.

What a frisky dog!!!!

Jen, Nothing against INXS, believe me, but how about some Bon Jovi? I'm sure we'd all love to rock out to some of that old stuff! I don't care which one, surprise us!

10/07/08 05:39 PM #293

Jennifer Schwab

Duly noted Wendy... I actually had some other rock choices planned coming up. They may or may not be Bon Jovi but they will be good.
