Hey Lisa M, those were a little below the belt. I thought we were all friends. You make it sound like all Michigan fans are a bunch of arrogant whiners. For the record I am a very humble whiner. I like the spirit though. Keep them coming. If i like them i can use them against my Ohio State friends.

Mike Thompson, i have no idea how much tickets are going for but i am pretty sure they can be had fairly cheap. Try MGoBlue.com and if that fails StubHub.com but it might be too late on StubHub.

I can't wait for that epic Pillow Fight in Ann Arbor this Saturday .....GO BLUE!!!!!!!

how about these...

What is the first thing a Michigan State sorority girl does when she gets up in the morning? She walks home.

What is green, one mile long, and has an IQ of 78?
The Michigan State homecoming parade.

I'm staying at the Book,
I love Joey too,
Welcome back everyone,
I will be in Napa this weekend getting my liver ready for Nov. 28th.
Q. What did the Michigan graduate say to the Michigan State graduate?

A. "Welcome to McDonald's. May I take your order, please?"

A guy in a bar leans over to the guy next to him and says, "Wanna hear a good Michigan joke?"

The guy next to him replies, "Well before you tell that joke, you should know something. I'm 6' tall, 200 lbs., and I am a Michigan grad. The guy sitting next to me is 6' 2" tall, weighs 225, and he's a Michigan grad. And the fella next to him is 6' 5" tall, weighs 250, and he's a Michigan grad. Now, you still wanna tell that joke?"

The first guy says, "No, not if I'm gonna have to explain it three times."

Nice Carl. What do you get when you cross a Spartan with a groundhog? Six more weeks of bad football.

I'll be getting my liver ready for Nov 28th with a good ole' hockey game this weekend! Our local ECHL team were the Kelly Cup champions last season so we're heading to their first game of this season Saturday night to watch the banner raising. Should be a lot of fun.

In preparation of the game I've been listening to the BEST and ONLY all hockey band, The Zambonis! If you've been to a hockey game in the last few years, you've probably heard their "I want to drive the Zamboni" song.

Here's "Hockey Monkey" by The Zambonis:

Q: How do you keep a Wolverine out of your yard?
A: Put up goal posts.

Q: What do you call 47 people sitting around a TV watching the Big 10 Football Championship?
A: The Wolverines.

Q: What's the difference between the Wolverines and a dollar bill?
A: You can still get four quarters out of a dollar.

Q: What's the difference between the Wolverines & the Taliban?
A: The Taliban has a running game.

Still friends! ;-P

I really shouldn't talk smack. I'm going to jinx them.

Ok... Song of the day time. It kills me that this song is being used in a freaking minivan commercial. Is nothing sacred?

Tones on Tail "Go!"

Now were all back!! I like it. The posts are great. Although it is disturbing my work. Yeah right. Soooo Mike, a 5-way is what you like??? I did not know that when I used to chase you around in 5th grade. LOL. Old school memories, I love them. So now that I know what it means, I actually order that at Kerby's Coney Island. It is called the "Chili Mac" if I am correct. Yummmmmy. I actually won a chili cook off at my work a few years ago. Boy did I piss some people off. Too bad. My husband is an awesome cook and has showed me some sweet tricks. That is probably why I can not get down to my high school weight again. Although that would mean I would loose my boobies and they would not be nice like Murphy and Ales though. And NO, there not fake.

So thanks girls, for the responses for staying at the Book. I didn't want to be the lone boozer!!!!

I like the buckeye jokes. I make peanut butter balls every year around Christmas but I can not stand Ohio State fans. They piss me off with their smug comments. Besides they are under us right? I love the Michigan and Michigan State jokes. I have to control my laughter at work. People are beginning to wonder what I am doing!!

Jen, I like your music postings too. Keep them coming.

Heidi you looked beautiful in your dress!! I wish I was there. Was that Louis that walked with you?

Almost a month away kiddies.......

If anyone is interested in checking it out... The Detroit Free Press has a nice article about the Book Cadillac's reopening and some great photo galleries (past and present).

Lisa- I just looked at your profile and you have a ton of great new pictures. I love it. Why is everyone but Carl smiling in his dorm room picture?????? I love the hair pictures. I remember when Jeff had a mullet. It was a cute mullet though. I love the look on Steve's face at Pizza Hut. Priceless. If anyone else has old pictures, post those babies. Those are the best pictures. I have a couple from government class with Shaun Scheinder. Yeah, he's still hot.

Dustin, that was the best one yet, Sparty fans had to even laugh at that one.

Lisa, you got some fight, go girl!!

Since Chris is bragging about her skills in the kitchen with the help of her hubby, sounds like there should be some chili at the field on Saturday after the game....and it would be a sin to loose those boobies!! I think most of us guys would agree regardless Michigan or
Sparty fan..

What does a Tornado and a Michigan State fan have in common??

Both could f*ck up a neighborhood..

10/23/08 07:01 PM #581

Jennifer Schwab

Q. What does a Tornado and a Ferris State fan have in common?

A. Again, I have no idea, but I'm pretty sure if there was an impending weather related disaster, the Ferris fan would stock up beer and have a party.

I should probably stop posting these jokes because after Michigan loses (hopefully not) I am going to get destroyed on here next week. I know there are lots of Michigan State grads in our class who are probably just waiting to make me eat crow. I like mine on the grill w/barbeque sauce.

I just can't help it....

It was reported that MSU coach Mark Dantonio will only be dressing 20 players for this Saturdays game against Michigan... the rest will have to dress themselves.

A Spartan football player was almost killed yesterday in a tragic horseback riding accident. Luckily the manager of Wal-mart came out and unplugged the horse.

GO BLUE and GO PENN STATE this weekend (I have to be honest...most of these jokes I usually use against the F***eyes.)

Morning kids... here's a little something to take you all back to Danceopolis (or maybe Lipsticks - remember that place?):

Shannon "Let the Music Play"

Let it Play!

Christine Meldrum (Babisch)

No you did not mention "Lipsticks". It was just re-opened with the old name. I had plenty of good times there only just a wee 20 years ago. Lot's of crazy memories there.

mmmm.....so you want some chili Bobby???? We will have to see what kind of condition I will be in on Saturday after our party. I might be up all night and need to sleep all the next day. But if you kids are well-behaved I might just make a batch. And for the record my husband did not help cook the chili, I just learned some tricks from watching him cook. It's alllll good.

thanks MELDRUM, but no mullet is a "cute mullet" i still prefer to call it hockey hair....

In the latest installment of 21 years ago.....

(10-23-87) AB Football beats Mount Clemens 20-14. They are now 4-4.

In other news for this week,

- School play auditioning is underway
- College reps are due in to interview students
- Wallyball is the newest sports craze

What was missed last week was Homecoming. Below is part of the events that I wrote about 21 years ago.

Homecoming parade was Saturday (10/17/87). During the Parade Jeff’s Cutlass blew a radiator. It was carrying the Freshman “Lord and Lady”. During the football game GPS scored 37 points in the first half. At halftime Amy Busby and Jim Huff were name King and Queen. Shortly after half the crowd left to prepare for the dance. I prepared to pick-up Heather B (my date and Queen).

At the dance the highlight (as far as I noted)was slam dancing to Motley Crue. The other highlights included Jeff and Lapinsky locking Jeff’s car keys in the trunk of Jeff’s car while drinking before the dance and Mike Thompson totaling his parents car. After getting Jeff’s keys (after the dance) we ( a group of friends) headed on to “Joey’s on Jefferson”

Upon arriving a Joey’s we noticed that everyone was standing around outside the restaurant. Earlier in the ride I apparently broke the passenger side door on Carl’s car so in order for Kristen to get out, she had to jump over the stick shift and exit the driver-side. While doing so she ripped a softball size hole in her nylons and fell on her can on separate occasions. As we arrived we noticed the Theut “Party” van located on the streets of Detroit with the doors open and no one inside. We could not get into the restaurant because our reservation was mysteriously not found. So to make the best of a bad situation we headed back home to the best restaurant we could think of……………. (The Horn of Plenty). Heather and I both went all out and ordered club sandwiches (what a great date).

After Diner was hotel partying. Then much later Kristen W's house for cinnamon rolls, doughnuts and apple cider (replenish fluids). I dropped Heather home around 5:00am

Joey, that's freaking hilarious! I had no idea everyone partied like that for Homecoming. Prom, maybe but Homecoming? But then I never went to Prom either...

Well I'm off to the gym (stupid dress that I have to fit into) and then back home to watch the (hopefully tivo'd) Red Wings game. Chat later!

10/24/08 09:25 PM #589

Michael Thompson

One detail you didn't include Joe.....that was my parents brand new car! Backed into a poll or something. It wasn't totalled, but the back bumper was pretty f'ed up. I think my dad is still pissed I didn't bag the evening and call him to come get the car.

And I believe Dean has some photos from the Horn of Plenty on his profile.

Didn't Jeff lock his keys in the trunk with all of our beer? And didn't mr. Murphy have to come open the trunk, or am I remembering wrong?

On a positive note, I think we shut out GPS's 3rd and 4th team offense in the second half! Man, those guys were monsters!

I can't decide if Joe's journal entries remind me more of BH 90210 or The Wonder Years.

10/24/08 09:42 PM #590

Joseph Ales

Mike,

I have omitted certain entries to protect the guilty (I mean innocent). I would say it's somewhere between BH 90210 and Gossip Girl.

10/24/08 10:40 PM #591

Raequel Olcese (Tomsich)

I was Jeff's date for homecoming. I do remember part of the locked keys incident. I sorta remember having to go somewhere to find Murph's parents to get spare keys. For some reason a beer tent comes to mind. And I think there was beer in the trunk so it was a touchy situation. Got to homecoming totally late and they were waiting for Jeff so they could have the homecoming court dance. And then I vaguely recall maybe "borrowing" someone else's reservations for dinner somewhere.

Now 20 years later, I heard ABHS was on lock down because some kid texted others he was bringning a gun to school. (I have a niece and nephew ay ABHS).
