Jennifer Schwab Out of state-ers also ask me why everyone in Michigan drives like bats out of hell. I say because we know how to drive. People here in Cincy freak out if it so much as sprinkles out. Forget driving in the snow. They lose their minds.

Does anybody remember Mr. Wisdom, aka George Jetson, telling a story about the River Rouge catching fire? He worked as a bridge operator, and the river had som many chemicals in it, the surface actually caught fire. Truth or myth.....MT, maybe you could research that for us.

As for the ode de detroit.....take a trip to Camden, NJ sometime. Smelliest city in America. Depending on the wind direction, it can smell like burning human waste, burning trash, or burning chicken parts. Two treatment plants and the home of Campbell's soup. Makes Theut's backyard smell like roses!

Mike T...Looks as though Jeff is correct:
1969: The Cuyahoga River catches on fire near Cleveland, Ohio. Unrestricted dumping of waste by local industries, leaving the river clotted with oil and other combustible effluent, is blamed.
Time magazine described the Cuyahoga as a river that "oozes rather than flows" and a place where a person "does not drown but decays."

BTW: I'm embarrassed to say that I cannot figure out how to post pictures or hotlinks. I sell web applications to fortune 500 companies but cannot figure out this $%#@ing site.

Heidi Gipprich (Baldwin!) We just got it 2 weeks ago and it already paid for itself! $169 is only 3 games in the bar! Wings, Carne Asada on the grill, front door open for the breeze, a 12 pack of pumpkin ale, and a 30 pack of Miller Lite. It's a good night!
