Lisa, I have zero recollection of that experience. And I had FOUR years of French in high school and 2 more in college. Sacre bleu. What was I thinking. I can only remember a few words.

I had Benedict and Pancoast for French. I don't remember my French name or Ms. Pancoast flashing us. I must have blocked it out. I do remember she used complain about her ex-husband all the time.

Ms. Yankitis (sp?) was the teacher I remember most of us guys thinking was hot.

Nope I don't remember that trip either! But I do remember taking a train to some french castle in Toronto. Anyone remember that trip?

09/23/08 05:56 PM #97

Jennifer Schwab

Heck yeah I do remember the train trip. It was to Casa Loma.

And we went to the science museum there too.

That trip was so much fun. I think that was one of the few school things I actual did.

I had Ms. Pancoast and I was sure that she was hitting on me daily. I'm sure it was because of the studly french name I had "Bruno".

Wow... I have no idea how you guys remember some of this stuff. I do not remember my french name. Joey were you one of the unwitting victims in the front of the class?

Heather Burbeula (Bade)

You're not alone Jennifer...I don't remember my French name either. Amy S. did we even get French names? She probably didn't have the energy to do it with us since we exasperated her! And I do remember her liking the boys! Sorry guys!

Roseanne - thanks for passing the info on to Ruth...I knew she would appreciate being blamed for our drinking habits!

Dustin, you are correct, the hottest teacher was Ms. Yankitis (sp) and Ms. Butler was a strong second.

Any of the locals who still live around the New Baltimore area going to the Home Coming Game this Friday? All this reunion talk has sparked up a ton of nestalga (sp) did I mention I was a horrible speller.
Jimmy Belt, are you going? Greg McCown and his family is going with me and mine and possible Dustin. I think we should dust off our old football jerseys and varsity jackets for the event.

my daughter is playing in the pre game band stuff. they are preparing the 8th grade for marching band if they want to. we will be at the game for a little bit, then we are camping.

i do not recall any male teachers to take a second look at. i do know mr dimaggio, earhart (?), mr kinter, and the physiology teacher let me get away with a lot. that was always appreciated.

so many teachers are still there. my daughter has some too weird.

I did hear something about the band prep from my neighbor, we will probably see you there but maybe not, those damn kids wonder all over that stadium, rarely sitting down and making a ton of noise which is more annoying than anything, how old does that sound???? I think I am officially an old fart!!!

kristie,
yes I had tons of animals growing up we had the last house in the school district and I grew up on a dairy farm. how embarssing when you are in high school, dirt poor and a farmers daughter. Now I would give anything to be on a farm and not in the city.

Sarah -

I remember exactly where you used to live - I wasn't far from you - I think that we probably even rode the same bus.

I totally agree with you- I would give anything now to be living in the country - but I am in the city too - but hopefully not for too long.

Ok kids, today's song of the day is Run DMC's "Hard Times" because I had to come into the office an hour earlier because the boy and I are carpooling to save on gas. And after the market drops of the last couple of weeks, this song is more relevant than ever.

Plus, Run DMC always reminds me of hanging out with Julie Schmidt and going to Danceopolis in my big ass boat of a car, not to mention watching Soul Train with my dad. :)

Juice-- I think my wife and I are going to take the kids to the game. I don't have a varsity jersey. Only played through my JV year. Bad knees. I have no idea where my varsity jacket is but I don't think it would fit anyway. I saw a guy at the game there last Friday wearing an old 80 something jersey. Name was faded, but a guy in his late thirties early forties with a HUGE beer gut should not flash an old jersey.

Jimmy-
Good thing I'm not in town for the game then, eh? No old guys with beer guts allowed to wear their jerseys? That's what homecoming is all about baby!

My varsity jacket doesn't come close to my wrists. If they sell gear at the game pick me up AB lid.

I heard a rumor that they'll be retiring the #9 at the homecoming game.....any truth to that Carl?

Make sure you all stop by the Wargo Tailgate Party. Maybe it's "Dot Day".

I took 4 years of Spanish at ABHS, which totally ruined me for any other language. Spanish pronunciation is so different from anything else.

In college I studied both German and French, both of which I can only speak with a Spanish accent :)

I still use Spanish on an almost daily basis, it does help that I live in a neighborhood with many hispanic families.

Mike Thompson! "Maybe it's Dot Day"
hahahahhahahahahahaaaaaa! hilarious!

James Belt

Mike-- I'll look for a lid for ya. And about the beer gut, I am talking Chris Farely "Fat guy in a little coat" big. This guy was enormous! He had a shirt underneath the jersey, and thank God for that. You could still see the belly button. Not pleasant.

Sarah,

I always loved coming out to your house, even though it did feel like it took FOREVER to get there! HAHA! I lived in a subdivision and loved all the open space at your house! I couldn't imagine living in the city now. We live on 4 acres, which isn't a lot, but much better than a subdivision. I couldn't live off of crazy busy 23 Mile like I did growing up! I must be getting old because I hate city traffic!!

Hello All,

I think a Friday evening pre game homecoming drink at Rosie's or Green Street tavern would be good. I'll bring Sutter, he's usually good for buying the first round.

Thompson... you DID have a crush on Bultler.... i understand it all now. at first i thought you were a moron for leaving your cheat sheet in your desk in her class... but now i realize that you were just getting some alone time... maybe a little scolding... were there spankings involved?

i never liked her much. way too uptight. maybe you go for that kind of dominance?

09/24/08 02:53 PM #118

Michael Thompson

Geez Heidi----let the jocks make a few jokes! Like I had a clue what dot day was until Amy outted you guys. Even then I had to process it for a few days. No wonder I hated school. I never thought of using performance inhancing drugs.

Kristi - did you really just call 23 Mile Rd, city traffic?? I'm cracking up. Traffic in DC is brutal. It makes 23 Mile Rd seem like a country lane. Anywhere you drive in DC you need to plan an extra hour for traffic.
