I'd like to send my wishes for a safe and happy New Year to all of the Class of 88 and your families. Take care everyone and have a wonderful night.

And because it's the obligatory New Year's Eve song I had to post it (but I think I found the BEST version):

Cheers!

Great video Jen. Since I wasn't at the reunion you will have to tell me who is who in the video. I would have to say deano, toast, crow, murph, joey and carl would be some of the male dancers. Jen, highlife, nicole, kris b, christine m, amy soper and busby, wayne moores wife, rai ann and wendy some of the female dancers. Hope everyone had a great new years eve. Hey does anyone know what the special food is for the new year and what does it mean?? I think black eyed peas is one and means good luck. any others? Im sure highlife knows down there in Na Orlins

Whew! I finally feel human again. Hope everyone is recovering nicely.

Mike - I'm not sure what 'genius' came up with the rule you are supposed to eat peas and cabbage on new year's day, but that sounds completely disgusting, especially when you are hung over. I'd never heard of that until I moved south. I'm making up my own rules...for me, new year's day is full of coffee and beignet.

Is today really Friday? Wow - weird. Have a good weekend, everyone.

Hi kids. How is everyone? I'm not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow after all this relaxin' and doing much of nothin'. I think it's going to be hard to get motivated. But I hope everyone has a fantastic new year.

Where did you stay in Naples, Joe(y)?! My in-laws live there. I'm there every other Christmas break, but this was our year to stay home. They actually live about two miles from Marco Island, but it's still considered Naples. Probably going down for Spring Break this year. How was the weather at New Years?

Kristi,

My parents live just sout of the Naples Airport. The weather has been great (high 70's low 80's). I have a business meeting this week in Orlando (Tuesday through Friday), so sadly my vacation ends today. I have been down here every other year. Love the weather, but wow the old-timmers. My parents are considered kids down here. Not looking forward to getting back to the cold.

I know pretty much where your parents are at. We go shopping, movies, etc. in that area. Nice area, except I totally hear ya on the old timers!! And that area has the LONGEST red lights EVER! I hate driving there. Between the blue hairs and the long lights, your lucky to make it anywhere!

Glad to hear you had a nice time, though. Weather sounds great. You're in for a rude awakening when you get back to Chicago!!

Hi everyone!!! Happy New Year!!! Long time no chat, type, etc. Thank you for the birthday wishes. My birthday started out good and ended with being sick for several days with a sinus infection which I am almost over thank god. Next year I am going somewhere really warm on my Christmas vacation. I get sick every year and I'm done with it. Ok enough about that.

Let's start thinking about a date for a Friday or Saturday night rendezvous at the Town Pump!!!! Perhaps in late February or March. Thoughts, ideas, a different place, etc.

Very funny Mike. How are you?

01/08/09 04:45 PM #1812

Just about to leave work and your right Mike, coney's sound great!!!!!!!!!

01/08/09 04:54 PM #1813

Michael Thompson

I'm doing well. And I really could go for a coney.

Okay, my son just walked back from the park behind our house....with no shirt on. When questioned as to why, in 30 degree weather he has no shirt on, he replied "It has pee on it."

Someone find Murphy and ask him how you can PEE on a shirt that you are WEARING?

Hope everyone had a great holiday! We have been very busy. We went to Florida Dec. 6- Dec 16. We attended our very first Bar Mitzvah in Naples. Our nephew turned thirteen. Wow, what a party! Thank goodness there were no coney dogs to be found at the Ritz Carlton.

Glad to see that people are still staying connected through this website. I'll be checking in to see if there will be any future social events. I enjoyed the reunion but partied a little too much. I don't feel like I really got to talk to everyone.

Take care.

thompson... what makes you think i would know the answer to that question? okay, so i do know, and i can tell you that it is completely plausable...

been laid up for 2 days, walked out of gusoline alley on "ice storm" night... took two steps and fell flat on my back... unfortunately, my hands were in my pockets so i hit my head on the sidewalk... i dont actually remember the next 24 hours and probably should have gone to the hospital.

but my head is hard so i live to see another bar night...

hey joey, i will be in orlando sunday thru thursday.

Geez Jeff. I'm so glad you're ok. Head injuries are no joke.

Jeff,

I'm leaving Orlando tomorrow (technically today). We have to try to coordinate our schedules better.

Call me if you are going to be in Chicago next couple weeks.
