Good Monday morning everybody. Anybody awake yet? I know I'm not, I've not had nearly enough coffee yet. So get things jump started, the song for today is "This is Radio Clash" by the Clash.

Everybody hold on tight!

Everyone obviously glued to the tv regarding the bailout. lowest turnout on message board since inception. Buy low everyone. We can retire in a year.

Jennifer Schwab

Carl, yeah buy low for sure. My boyfriend Lee is a financial planner and today was a VERY bad day for him. He had to spend the day dealing with a lot of panicky people. One client wants to put $200,000 under his mattress. Sheesh.

You look great too Lisa and you have a really beautiful family. I also think Mike Bellhorn's pictures are great. That car was just priceless. I can't believe I forgot about it. I don't think I'll forget it again.

By the way - hi everyone! Thanks for sharing your pictures. I'm totally enjoying looking at them. I'd love to share some of my old photos with you, but somehow I think you may already have seen our '88 yearbook.

Gotta go watch Colbert put the right perspective on today's events. -Nicole

Christine Meldrum (Babisch)

Hey Bellhorn,
I love the pictures of the car. My high school car was way to big to be painting. It was a sore thumb to begin with so I did not want to draw any more attention. I saw a landscaping company with the same logo yours use to have and I did not know if it was still in existence. Good to hear your well. I love all the pictures from high school. I will have to see if I can dig some up from junior high as well. I love the 80's hair.

As a side note, I saw Lee Bugby at Blakes and she will not be attending the reunion. Bummer. The more the merrier I always say.

Lisa Miller (Shedlock)

I can't watch the news anymore. This is much better :)

Mike - Great pics! Who are the other toddlers?

Nic - I love that top you are wearing! xo

Jen - Where does said client with the $$ in his mattress live? Just curious...

Matt - I do love Bowie! You are awesome!!

Joey, Jeff, Mike T - Where have you been? Do I need to send a 'get well' cookie bouquet?

Happy Tuesday!

Ok kids, it's a little late but better late than never.

I've been mulling over songs to post today and since the last couple of days have been kinda sucky, I decided it would make me feel better to post something that makes me feel better but still has a message. So pass the dutchie on the left hand side, here's Musical Youth with the song of the day, I say:

Kimberly Loch (Boettger)

Jenn- 'Pass the dutchie' OMG that's too funny! I had that song on some LP by K-Tel records...I think it also had 'Electric Avenue', 'Come Dancing' and who knows what else??? Kind of a K-Tel Collection vs. KidzBop. The hubby is still horrified that I used to go to concerts like the Violent Femmes down at the Latin Quarter. Is that place still there???

09/30/08 03:14 PM #202

Jennifer Schwab

Sorry Kim, the Latin Quarter became the Grand Quarter sometime in early 90's and then closed down. I'm pretty sure it's still vacant. Oh man, I'd love to have that k-tel album today!

09/30/08 09:43 PM #203

Jennifer Schwab

Geez, is that a tumble weed I just saw blow by? I guess the song of the day today should have been The Specials "Ghost Town".

Two Chicago baseball teams in playoffs. Who could believe it.

Jenn, your song of the day keeps crackin me up! i've known only 90% of them tho i have to admit. i keep buggin Tanya (Skorina) to get on here but i guess she's super busy. i'm not sure what it means exactly, but when i think of you, Froggy Barncle II comes to mind and Strawberry Fields Forever. i think it has something to do with Duran Duran? lol!

10/01/08 08:24 AM #206

Jennifer Schwab

Mary, that's too funny. I have no recollection of what those mean but I'm sure they must have something to do with Duran Duran. :) I'm trying to do a mix of popular and slightly obscure music. If I put all my favorite stuff up, I think no one would have any idea what the heck any of it is. lol.

Jennifer Schwab

Good morning kids. So, speaking of rare and obscure music, did any of you guys listen to Brave New Waves? It was on after midnight on one of the radio stations out of Windsor. I used to listen to it every night and it had the coolest, weirdest, punk, new wave, and indie music ever. So in honor of Brave New Waves, today's song of the day is called "Open Your Eyes" by the Lords of the New Church.

UGH! it's 7 am. I am never up this early but have to drive to Tucson to see a client. Anyone else here totally scared for their investments? I am!

Good morning regardless :)
OCTOBER 1 !!

Nicole Cassisa (Prevo)

I remember Brave New Waves. That station was so awesome I didn't even mind that it was hard to find on my radio and was always full of static. You're right, Jennifer - that music was weird. Does anyone remember the Star Trekkin song?

10/01/08 10:33 AM #210

Jennifer Schwab

ha! I do remember that Nicole. They used to play a ton of novelty songs like that. They also used to play static sounds captured from space. Lol. But that station was incredible.

10/01/08 10:51 AM #211

Nicole Cassisa (Prevo)

That's right! They did do static sounds from space. I totally forgot about that.

Heidi I know what you mean about the investments. I am kind of upset too. Although if we all take our money out of our investments it will make the economy in a nutshell worse. I hate taking a beating too but leaving it alone is the safer bet. I just wish the stupid government would quit screwing around and get it together. I almost hate to watch the news anymore.

Happy turtleneck and cords season. Oh wait, you probably do not have to where that stuff. Stupid sexy Arizona weather!!

First Time Poster, Long Time Reader. It's really great to hear from everybody again and see how well people are doing.

Because of all the 80's music talk (thanks Jennifer), I had to post this. It was emailed to me yesterday and was taken from the website "the onion". I thought it was hilarious.

Members Of Twisted Sister Now Willing To Take It

September 29, 2008

NEW YORK—In a stunning reversal of their long-stated reluctance to take it, members of heavy-metal band Twisted Sister announced Monday that, after 24 years of fervent refusal, they are now willing to take it. "I acknowledge that we promised not to take it anymore, but things change. The world is a different place today, and with that in mind, we would like to go on record as saying that, starting right now, we are going to take it," read a statement released by the band's lead singer, Dee Snider. "To clarify, we would still prefer not to take it, but as of now, taking it is an option that we would be open to. That is all." Bassist Mark "the Animal" Mendoza also stated that, in regards to what he wants to do with his life, he no longer solely wants to rock, but would instead prefer doing other things, such as raising a family and working as a claims adjuster in Rye, NY

Welcome newcomers!

Christine & Heidi, hang in there. The market sucks right now but we're all a long way from retirement so we just have to look at the long term. It's hard when the short term sucks but investments are a long haul.

Jason, that's one of the funniest things I've read in a long time.

Rai Ann, that is incredible news. I'm so happy for you and your family. And I'm glad to hear that you'll be joining us at the reunion. Take good care.

Rai Ann -

That is great news about your daughter. I have been thinking about her since I read your profile - I am glad to hear that all is well!!

Take care.
