Hey--tried calling Dietz, but no one answered. Guess they could not hear the phone ring over all of those "BANGS". 830-885-4662 if anyone else wants to give it a try. The phone book states that they are open from 10-6. If you want to meet in town somewhere, you guys may just want to meet at the parking lot at Walnut/46/loop 337 intersection. Where the new Herbert's taco hut is, across from Kirkwood Nursing Home where we will have our reunion in 40 years from now.

Wallyworld works for me as a meetup spot.

Me likes the nursing home idea. Will there be a denture check in?? :-D

I was a small arms instructor for the USCG. I can help out with the beginners as well.

Greg and I discussed the Scoot-N-Shoot group meeting at 9:00 at Wal-Mart at Walnut and 35. Will post those details soon.

Kitty- any details on the tubing rates---can you also get the address to where they need to go and what time would be best. We are only a few weeks away from the big event.

Greg--Maybe we can have a dentures party next so we can get group rates on them. I will make sure they rennovate Kirkwood again in a few years and buy new equipment for us. Rob, if memory hasn't already failed me, I think you were one of the oldests...just let us know when you are ready for yours so we can line up for the discount.

As I recall some dude with a mullit gave me that gun. Maybe he used to have a mullit, and he later gave me the gun. As I recall most of us had mullits. I don't want to hear the mocking from the women either, there is plenty of "big hair pictures" around. Amazing what you can do with a whole can of hair spray.

Marney Page (Hagen)

Ok so we had big hair... but a mullet is a mullet, even the name sounds so wrong. I beleive there were even a couple of girls sporting those nice hair do's! Can't wait to see all the pics, Rodney has some really good ones up of him & Kenny (why didn't I ever notice that Rod looks like Spicoli from Fast Times).

Mike,
I would say that you must be mistaken about the gentleman whom gave you that bullet launcher. I do not recall him ever having anything resembling a mullet.......

07/29/08 06:47 PM #98

Kristi Koehler (Squires)

Big hair, that is, with the wrap around feathers that lifted in the wind and would fall right back into place. We should have a high school hair do or biggest glasses contest. Nahh! Let's not! There will be plenty of pictures---maybe we can have that contest via pictures!

07/29/08 06:56 PM #99

Greg John

I wouldn't do very well in a hair contest.

Just sayin........ :-D

07/29/08 07:11 PM #100

Kristi Koehler (Squires)

That is why we should stick to the pictures....we all had some good ones going back then.

07/29/08 07:41 PM #101

I will deny any and all supposed photos of me. Should any exist they are all fakes and therefore inadmissible as evidence.

07/29/08 08:07 PM #102

Kristi Koehler (Squires)

Oh, but there will be plenty of eye witnesses there who will beg to differ!

Golf Update July 29:

Here is who I have for Golf: Rob S., Randy E., Shayner the Crasher, Mark S., Marney and Hubby, Joe C., Darrell R., John R., Mario P., Evan E. and myself. You will need to be there ready to tee it up at 8:00 a.m. sat. morning. We should be done at noon before it gets too hot. I have been informed (and have to tell you)by the Bandit that no outside beverages are allowed and that they will have beer and wine to buy.. Green Fee including carts is $59+tax/golfer. We may do a two man "best ball" (at least on the back 9 as by that time, Marney will be handing out shots).
Let me know if there is anyone else, including spouses, that is interested in playing as I will need to have a final head count July 31. Even if you are not sure you are going to make it I can reserve a spot for you now. Cheers!

Kristi, I'm off this Friday if you need anything. I think Kim elected me to the decoration committee with her, so it is disco lights and.... oh, wrong year. :P (lesson here people, be careful who you talk to before the big event) Just kidding, I will help wherever I can. We are planning a family day on Friday, but let me know if you need anything.
So far, I think I elected for toobing, but who knows where I might show up, it all sounds like fun. I like to shoot too, I like the 22 rifle best. But.... I really like water! Ron, that is me, the hubby and the daughter, but we have our own floaties, (still live here) so we don't need no stinkin tube ;) so save the discounts for someone else that can use them.
Becky, you and Willy's Dad are in my prayers.
Kristi, where is this wedding and were you really fishing for a support group?
Any kind of count so far on how many people plan to attend? Apparently $ says 3. LOL
I have pictures and all on my classmates page, I haven't had the chance to put them here yet. For those that know my sister, Valorie, her middle son is 17 and fighting cancer, he had a bone marrow transplant and is doing well, still in the critical first 100 days post transplant.

Thanks Tom. I will update the Golf tab. Yes Pam, you are correct, I have only received money from 3 people so far!!!! If only you guys had sold more cookies and grapefruits I would not have to be such a nag. Payment is greatly appreciated. We might have to start cancelling the margarita machines. I will send you guys another email with my address as I do not want to post it for the whole world to see.

Disco and bell bottoms. Thanks for helping Kim. My niece was kind enough to plan her wedding in NB and early so that I could make it to the reunion--although I may show up casually late.

Speedy recovery to all of the above.

All I need is a cool buzz and some bodacious waves man - Spicoli himself.
I did have a bit of a do back then myself. It is nothing like that now, way too much grey in it for that kind of up-do!

Greg- you had a mullit, homely. just like the rest of us, before you got that fancy military haircut. Marney - I'm betting that a girl coined the name mullit so big hair wouldn't sound so silly. If you come to the Walmart hungry we can stop at Hannah's on the way to the gun range. Everyone will probably be done around lunch. We could all meet some where if we wanted to. Adobe has a banquet room. We could go back to Freigheit for a burger and a beer. Chili's has a full bar and I think Buffalo Wings does too(the foods not that great though, it's kinda like expensive ballpark food). Whatever, not picky. Then again everyone may want to go their own way for lunch. Sorry to hear about Valerie's son, best wishes and prayers. Some good reading, Lance Armstrong "It's Not About The Bike". It is a testament to his determination. I actually never finished reading it though, I started to not like who Lance so much. The fact of who he was before all this happened, as a person and I enjoy having a good opion about him because he helps so many people. I should actually should finish it though. It says a lot about never giving up even when the outlook looks rough. I enjoy the ignorance of believing that he was just this really good guy that these bad things happened to. But it is about hope and determination. When you run out of one, you have to hold on to the other.

Greg---Oh they do exist. Found a good one! It was on the senior slide show.

Damn you people and your constant mullet talk! I've spent the past two days trying to get "Achy Breaky Heart" out of my head because of it!

If it's any consolation, though, as bad as my "Jackson Browne" 'do was at CHS, I grew the power mullet at one point during my Aggie days. Business in front, party in the back!

07/30/08 10:10 PM #111

Kristi Koehler (Squires)

OK let's move on to glasses then....hate to break your achy heart Ron, but you did not have the biggest glasses. I just watched the senior slide show---WOW! Those were some seriously big glasses to go with the big hair!

I agree with you Mike. When I was reading that book Mark got the Cliff note version everytime I said "What a jerk!" out loud. He is a VO2 Max super human with a great amount of determination.

TTFN!

OK Mike, so if I read every fifth word correctly, it was a book, about great determination, and not giving up, that you haven't finished reading yet, but you should. After sitting next to you for our senior year in World Geography I would have never though you would have a book that wasn't read from cover to cover. I remember when we turned our books back in, the teacher had to crack the spine on them because they hadn't been opened yet.

I'm sorry, I just couldn't let this one go by without saying something: "It is a testament to his determination. I actually never finished reading it though."

That's the funniest thing I've seen since Harry told Lloyd that his girlfriend broke up with him because he thought she said that he never listened to what she had to say but he wasn't sure because he wasn't paying attention. (Dumb and Dumber reference)

Hi to everyone reading this forum. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you who can make it to the reunion in 2 weeks. As Kristi has noted on the webpage, Kitty and I are organizing a breakfast get together for class of 88 grads and your families at Landa Park on Saturday, from 9-11am. We'll have breakfast tacos and oj and will meet in Landa Park at the playscape area closest to the little train station (pretty much directly across the street from the pool and train station). If you can't find us, call me on my cell: 512-632-1695. If you know you can make it, please email me with a headcount so that I can be sure and get enough tacos for everyone: hway@austin.rr.com. I won't have access to email or phone until August 15th, so I'm signing off for now. See you in a couple of weeks! Heather

I said it was a testament to his determination, not mine. As I recall John and I sat in front of the map in world geography. This made the tests really easy.
