Current Announcements
Six months have passed since our 50th Reunion,
and I don't know about you, but I still think about being there and seeing everyone together again and picking up where we left off. It was a wonderful time of catching up and reminiscing about our years at Rancho and all our teenage antics. Old friendships were rekindled, and seemed to be stronger than ever and all those inhibitions, long since diminished. At our age, we are who we are, and amazingly it seems, our friends still like us!
This site is still one of the tools we can use to keep in touch with each other and please, let other classmates you may know of its existence so they can keep in touch as well.
There will be other announcements from time to time on this page, so check back once in while, and there might even be new classmates to check out who have recently joined. We want to keep in touch with everyone, so if there are any changes in emails , names, phone numbers, etc., just let us know. Also, if you know of Classmates who has left us, please let us know so we can honor them with our condolences on the "In Memorium" page on this site.
Many thanks to all who were able to come! It was so wonderful seeing everyone again and spending time with you all at the various events. Take good care of yourselves and see you next time, and please keep in touch!
You can email Revena at julybean@yahoo.com with any information, comments or questions.
PS The word is out that some would love to have another get-together in 2024, so let us know your thoughts about that.
RHS DVD VIDEOS
For those of you who signed up at the Reunion to receive a "Those Were the Days" video of our memories at Rancho, we will be mailing them out soon. We ask for your patience as we tie up some loose ends.
We apologize for the extra $5 increase, but due to circumstances beyond our control with the Post Office mailing system, our discs did not arrive in time to have them available at our Reunion. Therefore, we will have an extra expense for the mailers and postage.
If you still would like to buy a DVD, just email me (Revena) at julybean@yahoo.com and let me know. We have plenty. Your check for $15 should be mailed to Diana Lawson at 4361 Flandes, LV 89121.
Again, thank you for your patience and thanks for coming and making our 50th Reunion so fantastic!
SEE YOU ALL TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!
Many of you are asking what type of clothing to wear to the Reunion. The answer:
. . . Nice Casual . . .
(Whatever that means to you!)
Have you seen the new Rancho yet?
Would you like to?
Now's your opportunity to actually go inside and walk around and see what seven million dollar buys! The new Rancho, located at 1900 Searles Ave., opened its doors to students in 2007.
If you would like to take the tour, be at the school on Friday, October 19, at 3:30 pm. It will be great fun! Go Rams!
We Can Use Your Help
If there is anyone interested in helping putting up decorations, arranging tables, and assisting in basic set-up for the Reunion on Saturday morning, October 20, we would welcome the help. We're hoping to get it all done between 9 am - 12:00 pm, but will confirm the time at a later date. PLUS - you get to spend extra time with your old friends, reminiscing about the good ole days decorating for the proms and painting spirit signs for games and assemblies! What better way to be a part of our 50th Reunion?! If that sounds like something you'd love to do, then please let one of the following Committee Members know:
Darlene Cripps Copsey: alphagroup2014@gmail.com
Diana Searles Lawson: lawsongenediana@gmail.com
Revena Belveal Angerstein: julybean@yahoo.com
Norma Riojas Wagner: justnorma@yahoo.com
July 1
After this date, the price of Reunion tickets increase
from $55 to $65 per person.
Make your method of payment payable to
Diana Lawson
and mail it to her at:
4361 Flandes, Las Vegas, NV 89121
See you in October!
* One of the questions asked is how do we dress for the Reunion?
Answer: "Nice Casual." We want everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable.
All you Classmates who went to JD Smith Jr. High- here's some interesting news for you!
The old school will be completely torn down soon and replaced with a wonderful new facility, thanks to former First Lady of Nevada, '67 Rancho Alum, and sister of Diana Searles, Sandy Searles Miller, who brought attention to the needs of the students in North Las Vegas and how other schools in Las Vegas were being improved with the best learning tools and facilities, while JD Smith (Middle School) was basically being passed over. The school has been in dire need of improvements for many years, still using the old portables that students have been using for decades. Below is the description of what is now planned for the school.
