Thank you John for organizing reunion and keeping all of us updated.  I have marked my calendar and look forward to attending this.  Cannot believe it has been 50 years!  Wow!

Rod, I am trying hard to think of some jingle but having a hard time remembering last week! Hopefully someone else can remember some crazy commercial or jingle that we grew up hearing every few hours! Can anyone remember the radio commercials for the different stations?

WNDR? WOLF?

There was the "Byrne Dairy Milk is Mighty fine..." jingle and "Save your money, save it honey, put in the bank today, open an account in any amount at Onondaga Savings Bank, today."

I have no idea why I remember those two about milk and banking, but I did make a career in Agriculture and Finance.

Yes, George, those two came right back!

How about this jingle for a radio program on WNDR

"Jimmy O'Brien show, NDR Radio

1260 on the dial

Tune in and Listen a while

Jimmy, Jim O'Brien show"

George on the savings bank jingle, I remember the third verse differently

Save your money, save it honey, save it for a rainy day, open an account...

It is amazing the amount of junk we can keep in our head when the seed is planted by a catchy tune or a punishing ad campaign.

"Brillcream a little dab will do ya"

Have had several inquiries about reunion given the covid situation. Out of state folks may be held to a quarantine of 14 days. I will be discussing it all with Marty Borio the next couple weeks. Being an eternal optimist, I am hoping that restrictions lessen by September. There is also a limit on gathering size here in New York. Needless to say the decision must consider the risks involved. Any input is welcome and perhaps we can use this forum to voice opinions. I would appreciate if you do comment, please keep politics out of the discussion and focus on the reunion date, venue and issues surrounding your attendance. You can also indicate if you are planning on attending.

Please stay safe everyone and hang in there!

Fins up!

John

Thanks John for keeping us informed I am hoping too some restrictions are lifted by then but time is going quickly !! I do plan on attending the reunion, it is easier for those that still live within the state. Thanks for all your info, Peggy

I am planning to attend. Out of state so not aware of What NY restrictions are. Not interested in spending 2 weeks in quarantine. We will drive to NY. Keep us posted. I hope if you need to cancel.. a new date next year will be in the works. Hopefully restrictions will lesson in 2 months. I am tired of all this.

I plan on and am looking forward to attending our 50th reunion in September.  Thank you John for all your efforts in making this happen as well as keeping all of us updated.  See you in September!  Linda

Hi John and all.  Unfortunately, I won't be attending the Reunion.  Carol and I flew to Syracuse a couple of weeks ago and as we boarded our connecting flight from Chicago to Syracuse we had to fill out a NY State Heath Form that asked where were coming from and where we were staying. That was the day that CA was added to the other 13 states that required a 14 day quarantine once you land in NY State.  No idea what the rules will be in Sept, but don't want to risk it.  Hope all is well with everyone.

Monica McGuire (my lovely wife and fellow classmate) and I are planning on attending assuming the virus situation gets better for everyone. It would be a shame if many can't make it due to state quarantine requirements and general concerns about gathering in large numbers. For such a once-in-a-lifetime event, we'd support a postponement so that we all can realize maximum participation without restrictions.

Hello John and fellow classmates!  I look forward to yet another peacefully enjoyable get together with one another, but I don't believe that covid affiliated travel restrictions will likely be reduced by September.  Marty Borio is pro-actively accomodating what business he can, including private events, but the likely exclusion of many out-of-staters and the distancing/mask etiquettes would draw much away from an even that, unlike a celebration party, is designed to bring us all together.  I'm good with either 2020 or 2021....or both.  Stay healthy, choose to see the good in people and be the light!

Great idea for an event competition Jim - most original, artistic....mask awards.

I was SO looking 4ward to our 50th reunion 9/26.  As a  Floridian our state is now the epicenter of this horrific pandemic & my 91-yr old Dad is nearby in a memory care facility w/me as his PoA/health care proxy so I can't be away for more than a few days.  We are one of many states whose residents are required to quarantine for 14 days after arrival in NYS so I just can't risk having something happen here w/him that requires my physical presence.  Is there any way, since this is a MAJOR event in our lives & there will likely be more out of state classmates who can't make it, that we could do a Zoom 'meeting' live w/those at Borio's?

Hi everyone! I'm up for our 50th, but think it would be unfair to all our out-of-state classmates to celebrate in September 2020. Unfortunately, for all of us, the fun of hugs, and conversations with all would be dampened by the need for masks, social distancing, a limit of 50 participants, and 14 day quarantine restrictions. Recently, we were unable to attend a friend's wedding due to the group limitations in place. We're all concerned about the welfare of our grandchildren returning to school in September. I'm on board with a 2021 postponement that hopefully will also be a celebration of the end of this COVID-19 war. Let's face it - at our ages we can't be too careful 😉🥰

Hi John, Thank  you for all the time and effort you have put in to all of the reunions. I plane on attending and look forward to seeing our classmates. Stay healthy !!

I vote for postponing the 50th reunion until 2021.  In addition to the travel quarantines that would keep many away, all of us want our loved ones at home to be safe after we return from the event.  It would be no fun to do this with social distancing and face masks.

Also, THANKS to John Vincent for his leadership on all things related to Class of 1970.

John and all our classmates,

Unfortunately, the travel restrictions don't seem likely to be lifted and it's likely that attendance is going to be impacted.  Perhaps postponing until 2021 would be best.  We already canceled a family reunion for August and progress with treatment/vaccine doesn't appear to be coming right away.

Thanks John for your and Marty Borio's efforts to get this together.

Regards,
Glenn

John, thank you so much for keeping these reunions going. I so enjoy them every time and greatly appreciate the time and effort you have dedicated to making them come to fruition. So sad that our world is complicating this years plans 😔.

I was also looking forward to attending and seeing everyone but I think a postponement would be the best choice right now for everyone's health and safety.  Let's get through this and get together when it is safer for us and our loved ones. Thank you John, for all of your efforts to get this site up and running.  It has been wonderful to see posts from fellow classmates and what everyone is doing.

John, some of the girls and I were at lunch last week and mentioned  how many people could attend safely, So maybe canceling would be best , especially for all the travelers. Crazy times !!

Hi everyone!
I was planning on attending our 50th Reunion - is that really possible! - the more we hear about Covid the more I feel that we should postpone until next year.. Hopefully by then things will be safer and more people can attend from out of state.  John thank you for all your work on the reunion and whatever is decided is ok
