William Meyer

Moved to California in 1991 after 16 years at PP&L to work for PG&E in San Francisco. Worked at PG&E for 15 years, then a biopharmaceutical company called Gilead Sciences for 9 years, started my own executive coaching practice, and now coach and do HR consulting mostly with small biotech companies. Got a Bachelor's in Business from Kutztown in 1985 and a Masters in Human Resources at Rutgers in 1991, almost all of it attending at night.

Married Carol in 1995 and we had our first child Eric in 1997 (when I was 40 years old), and Lauren in 2000. Eric graduated from Evergreen State College in Olympia Washing with an history degree and currently leads educational backpacking tours in Yosemite before heading off to a HS teaching career. Lauren received a BS degree from San Diego State and an MS from University of Hawaii and now works as a college level athletic trainer.

I'm active with various community groups including currently in my 2nd year as president of the Millbrae Lions Club.

I play bass in a classic rock band for kicks, I enjoy tinkering with a 1930 Model A Coupe and 1962 Rambler convertible, also cruising on a Harley. I ran a marathon on my 60th birthday, have done several century bike rides recently and plan to tackle a sprint triathlon next. We have a condo at Lake Tahoe where we snowboard & ski in the winter and mountain bike & hike in the summer.

I was a "tech-er", the focus was on learning your trade, and partying. My trade was drafting and my all time favorite teacher, including tech and regular high school, was Mr. Mittman, the drafting instructor at Bethlehem Vo-Tech. He was knowledgeable, patient, respectful of his students (and in turn we respected him), and an all around good guy. I learned a lot from him, and not just about drafting.
