Hi Betsy... Didn't we go to Hawthorn together? I sort of remember that you moved and I was so sad because I really liked you. :)
Hi Janet! Memories come flooding back of you and I walking back and forth to grade school. You would have money every once in awhile (allowance maybe??) and then you and I would stop at the drugstore that was near Hawthorn, after school, and buy candy. Wow, that was such a treat for me! Funny the things one remembers! :)
We also would ride our bikes around the block, rollerskate around my Dad's church, and play kickball IN THE STREET until it got too dark to see. Do you remember all that? And I thought it was so awesome that you lived above your family's store- I was envious!!
Do you remember the field trip our 6th grade class took ( Mrs. Steed) when we all walked to our block to see my house being jacked up and moved across the street to an empty lot so we could build a new house in it's place? Maybe that was a memory that was special for me and not really memorable to other classmates! :) Anyway, thanks for the memories - I loved being your friend! ??
Hi Vicki..... Oh how I remember you from Hawthorn! We had a good group of friends back then. Don't know if you remember, my folks retired to Crown Point, Indiana, and they happened to eat at your restaurant ( this was many years ago). They were so thrilled to discover the restaurant belonged to you and your family! Upon returning home, they immediately called me in Denver, to tell me they had gone to your restaurant. Good memories! I wish you and I had been able to connect then, but alas... I lived too far away. Hope you are happy and in good health - sounds like you have a TON of grand kids. You beat me - I only have 8 and they are all young: 3 weeks to 9 years old. :) We are so blessed, aren't we?
