Kennedy's funeral; 6/72--degree in Special Ed from Northeastern Illinois U; 8/72-6/2003--teacher in Elmwood Park, Il; married Randi 7/75; have been doing a lot of traveling and playing golf since retiring. Continued with running in the 70's and 80's--did 8 marathons. In the 90's my knees said no more so now I walk a lot.
School Story

Running in the 1963 Cross Country state meet--our team got 4th place (still the highest finish for OPRFHS). Also in senior year our indoor track team won the Suburban League championship at Morton West HS and then in March we won the OP Relays--I was part of the winning 4-lap relay team. At the outdoor state meet, our 880 relay team got 4th place. I really enjoyed knowing Coach Gummerson--great guy and coach.

Sadden to hear about Rod’s passing. He along with Court, Rick, and I got 4th place in the State 880 relay in May of ‘64. We also won the 4-lap relay at the OP Relays that winter. I remember him as a skinny, crazy (in a good way) guy who had many friends. Good memories. Rest In Peace Rod. John Dawson.
