Carol passed away November 19, 2006 - just after her 60th birthday. She bravely fought breast cancer for twenty years, until the medicine would no longer work for her. Carol and I were very good friends from first grade on, spending time together on Humphrey Avenue and Country Club Estates at Lake Geneva in the summer. At a very young age, we played golf, tennis, and went water skiing together. She loved to travel and went on many trips through McHenry College. Carol had one son, Seth Beers, who is a banker. She was a great golfer, traveler, and a good friend. I miss her.

I recall fondly Carol's flooded backyard where we could ice skate in the winter, the player piano in their front room, and the fun we had up at their Lake Geneva home in the summer. Her mom taught many of us to water-ski. One summer (perhaps after 7th or 8th grade?) the Goodemote's hosted about 8 of us from Hatch for several days of fun with friends. Her mom was one of the orignial outspoken women's libbers....you are missed Carol!
Carol Rhoton (Williamson)
Carol was a friend from elementary school days at Wm. Hatch School. I remember sock hops at the park district field house as well as ice skating there. Carol and Betty's parents taught all of my siblings and me how to water ski when we visited them at Lake Geneva. Carol had a lot of skills including playing the piano, ice skating, skiiing, and synchronized swimming. Carol had a wonderful laugh. She was interested in other people and cultures. I miss her.

This was one VERY fine lady. I loved our time together in Synchronized Swimming. Not only were there many hours in the pool preparing for our duet - - - - but several wonderful excursions on the El to find swim suits in Chicago. Much to Mrs Paulitz's chagrin, we selected a two piece number - oops!
Days in Lake Geneva were full of discovery, dancing, swimming, water skiing, - what times! She was perfect to talk about our future and the world in front of us. I am so disappointed that she will not be there this reunion.
