Comments:

I have been married for 36 years to Jim and have 3 children and 4 grand children. I taught high school French, Spanish, Italian, and ESL for 31 years. In addition to these academic subjects, I was also the choreographer to all the school musicals and was coach of the cheerleaders. We moved from Los Gatos, CA, in 1989 to Carson City, NV, where we started an electronics company, ThermOptics, which is still going strong.

Our youngest son bought into 3 franchises and I am actively involved with these restaurants. We have one in Carson City, one in Reno and one in Visalia. Between my electronic business and the restaurants, I am very busy. I also teach aerobics 5 days a week and have a personal trainer 3 days a week.

Above all, however, I am probably more blessed than most people as I was diagnosed with lung cancer 4 years ago quite by accident, as I had no symptoms. I had the left lobe of my lung removed and was well on my way to recovery, when 2 months later, I suffered a stroke in my left eye which rendered me blind in that eye. I was told that less than 1% ever get their vision back. This was permanent! I can't begin to describe my devastation! However, knowing how much I am guided and cared for by Our Blessed Mother and St. Jude, I never gave up and after 1 year, my miracle happened. My vision was restored.

Two years later, much to my dismay, the cancer came back as stage 3. I underwent Radiation and chemo. As of today, I am cancer free thanks to our Blessed Mother and the marvelous doctors at MD Anderson Cancer clinic in Houston, TX. As you can surmise, I am definitely a Miracle child and have been blessed so much by God. If I had not had my faith, I would have never made it.

I thank God daily, not only for the wonderful education and religious upbringing I was given at O'Dowd, but for the gift of life He has bestowed on me.
