Pat and I were good friends in our senior year and after graduation. We shared several "adventures" and loved having fun together. Pat married early and had a son who was only eight months old when she passed away from brain cancer. To this day I think of her often and miss her very much.

I liked Patricia from afar, too shy to ask her out, did dance with her as often as possible at school and teem club dances. She understood my shyness. She is a
gentle soul that was called home way too early for us mere mortals to comprehend.

I was out of the country when this tragedy ocurred so this in eulogy.

I remember that Pat had NO sick days while attending St. Louis Bertrand... I remember that because she got the attendance award.

Pat, Vernalynn Thomas and I walked home from SLB together many times. She came from a large family and was always one of the sweetest in our class. She was kind to everyone and lots of fun.

She was the first in our class to die and I remember being very shocked to hear of her death. i just couldn't believe it since I know she had just had a baby.

I remember running into Pat after we graduated at a dime store where I was working part-time while taking classes.  She was far along in her pregnancy and very happy.  I remember that peaceful, happy smile as she patted her tummy and  told me when the baby was due (I believe within the month).  She seemed so ready for this next phase of her life - so mature and so happy.  I remember that vividly.  Some months later I heard from a former classmate that she had died.

Pat and I were best friends through our SLB and BOD years of schooling.  I was godmother to her son Cory.  Such a beautiful baby!  I was so shocked and saddened by her passing.  She was a gentle soul.
